Your Royal Highness
  • Hello all again :D I'm so happy to be here again. Please don't forget to check the note at the end.
  • Three-year-old Yoongi looked in awe at his little baby brother. He giggled as he went to touch him. “Gently Yoongi-ah,” his father reminded him.
  •         “Yes papa,” Yoongi replied as he touched his cheek softly with his small chubby fingers. The little baby made cute little sounds and then yawned, causing Yoongi to giggle again.
  •         “He’s so cute papa,” Yoongi said while his father smiled fondly as he looked at his two sons. They were his blessings after many hurdles, even though he knew there would be more challenges in both his and their life.
  •         “What do you think his name should be Yoongi-ah?” his father asked as he shifted his weight to hold the little baby tighter while trying to look at Yoongi as well. Yoongi had not stopped touching his little brother.
  •         “Tae-Tae,” Yoongi replied smiling happily and clapping his hands excitedly. He had talked about possible names with his nanny many times and although he had mentioned a lot of names, he had stuck with Taehyung for a long time.
  •         “Taehyung it is,” his father replied with a chuckle of his own. “That’s a beautiful name Yoongi.”
  •         Yoongi cooed as he saw his little baby brother who was only a few hours old, trying to open his eyes. He blinked before he seemed to look around before blindly reaching for Yoongi’s finger.
  • “He’s so cute papa!” exclaimed Yoongi. He was young himself, but he knew he loved his little brother already. The king looked at his two precious sons and he felt that usual bittersweet feeling whenever he looked at Yoongi.
  • Five years ago, he had married a woman who he had quickly grown to love wholeheartedly. She had told him she was with child, and he had been ecstatic with the news. They had grown closer all while he grew more protective of her. They had looked forward to raising their child together, however, fate had other plans for them.
  • He shuddered as he remembered that fateful night. There was a terrifying storm, thunder continuously clapping outside the palace walls. The rain had been pouring hard and the wind had been strong. He had been outside, hearing his wife’s screams as she struggled to give birth. After hours, the screams had died down and he heard a baby crying.
  • He had entered inside the chambers, only to be welcomed by a horrifying sight. His wife was pale and sickly, covered in sweat and there was blood everywhere. He had rushed next to her while the maid held his child. He had cried like never before as his wife died in his arms with the promise that he would take care of Yoongi.
  • The first few months had been the most difficult he had ever experienced, between grieving for his wife and loving his newborn baby. Then after two years, he remarried for the sake of his son and kingdom. Deep in his heart, he knew no other queen could take the place of his first wife. After a while, she had told him she was with child too. He had been afraid of history repeating itself, however, both his wife and second child were doing well.
  •         “Papa, why cry?” Yoongi asked. His father chuckled as he quickly wiped his tears away.
  •         “I’m just really happy Yoongi-ah. Sometimes people cry because they’re happy,” his father said. Yoongi tilted his head as he looked at his father confused, just as his baby brother started crying. Yoongi’s mouth fell open while his father let out a chuckle. “And babies cry because they’re hungry. Let’s go take your baby brother to his mother hmm?” he asked, and Yoongi nodded happily as he trailed behind his father.
  •         The king and queen of Busan were in their little princess’ room. Hyejin was sleeping soundly, oblivious to everything else around her. The night was quiet but they could still hear the wind blowing outside.
  •         “I still can’t believe she’s ours,” the queen said while her husband held her securely in his arms. He smiled and kissed his wife’s cheek. He could hear the affection in her voice and he couldn’t help but love them more. They were his two girls, his reasons to smile.
  •         “She’s all ours. She’s our little girl,” the king replied. As he looked at her, looking so fragile and poor he couldn’t help but think of her future. She would grow up to be a woman in a world dominated by men. Even if she was of royal blood, she would still face challenges. He sighed, forcing his wife to turn to look at him.
  •         “What is it?” she asked, turning fully to look at him. She placed her hand against his cheek, and he smiled as he rested his face in her hold.
  •         “It’s just, I worry about her future. She will be the princess of Busan and eventually the Queen, but it won’t be easy. As much as I hate it, it’s not easy when the firstborn is a girl. Her rule might be questioned unless she is married,” he said.
  •         “I know darling, but we will make sure that she grows up to be strong and independent and not let any man disrespect her,” she replied. He smiled and nodded.
  •         “They won’t see the light of day if they do,” he replied, causing her to laugh.
  • He had done a silent promise the moment she was born and held her in his arms, that he would protect her with everything he could. He promised himself that he would not be held back by traditions but would teach his daughter to be able to protect herself.
  •         “She’s already daddy’s little girl, isn’t she?” his wife asked and he could only smile in return.
  •         “She’s my princess, but you’re my queen,” he said, turning to kiss her.
  • Finally, after what feels like a long hiatus, I am doing my comeback to the world of BTS fanfiction. I missed you guys so much and I've missed seeing your comments and messages. I hope you can still support me on this new fanfiction. The focus will be on Yoongi but as a King - sort of like in Daechwita. This is my first ever royal AU so I hope I can make it work! I look forward to your thoughts. I missed you so much! - Tae's Misfit
