Till Death Departed - Vows
  • It was her last night in Unova, as most of her things were already moved into Lucian's home. She was to be wed in less than 48 hours and she could barely contain her excitement. All that remained in her room was just a full-body mirror and a stool she occasionally used to reach one of her higher shelves for her bookshelves.
  • Her mind felt as if it were in a daze, realizing that an event that she had been holding her breath for was so close. She was on a Cloud Nine that no one, not even the gloomy weather, could banish. Soon, she would forever be bound to the love of her life as they exchanged vows, forming a convent with one another. Her heart and soul already belonged to him the moment he took a knee and proposed that fateful evening. She was his. There was no need for her to ponder whether she wanted to stay or leave.
  • They had so much in common and complimented each other in so many ways. Not only that, but the many trials they went through together were something she wasn't going to dismiss. There was so much they had gone through together and she would be a fool to discard it all. Her heart ached for him as she desired to be at his side once more.
  • Soon. . . .
  • Soon, she would be in his loving arms, smothered by his loving kisses. His rhythmic humming in her ear as he shifted his gentle hands through her lavender locks as she rested against his chest. He offered such a great deal of comfort and security to her.
  • Closing her eyes, Shauntal wrapped her arms around her shoulders as she lost herself in the image of being in his arms. A tired sigh left her lips. Despite her excitement though, she barely slept a wink. What she would give to have one of those rejuvenating naps in his arms right about now. She even took the time to write her vows when Lucian wasn't looking. Speaking of which . . .
  • Shauntal felt around in her pockets before pulling out a piece of paper she folded into several squares. Unfolding it, she took a long look at it, hoping her words didn't tumble into a twisted mess.

" 'There are so many languages and ways to confess - to declare one’s love and devotion to another. Words have described, on more than one occasion, how one feels and their thoughts throughout history.
  • Shauntal
    Shauntal
But what words would be fitting or appropriate to use in order to describe how I feel about you?
  • Shauntal
    Shauntal
I recall, nearly two months ago, we had a conversation regarding this very day. I made a promise that I would mean every word I spoke to you as we made our convent together. I mean to honor that promise with every inch of my heart.
  • Shauntal
    Shauntal
Lucian, you are the literal light in my life. The flickering flame upon a Litwick, drawing me closer to bask in your warmth. I fear not what the flame could inflict, as I trust you with my life. I would follow you to the bitter end if only it meant I could spend every waking moment of my life at your side. You, my love, will always be seen as a friend and lover to me. Someone I can confide in and whisper all my secrets to without judgment. I love you and I vow to stay by your side no matter what the future has in store for us.

I’m prepared to brave tomorrow, no matter what it will bring, at your side as your friend, lover, beloved. .your lawfully wedded wife, without hesitation.' "
  • Shauntal held the paper close to her chest, close to her heart. She meant every word she wrote and prayed that her words would reach his heart during their special day.
  • Iris
    Iris
    "Hey Shauntal...?"
  • Shauntal
    Shauntal
Startled, she looks up for a moment, only to see Iris by the doorway.
  • Shauntal
    Shauntal
    "Hm..?"
  • Iris
    Iris
"Your ride to the airport is here."
  • Shauntal
    Shauntal
"Oh, why thank you." Shauntal crosses the room as she carefully folded her vows once more, placing them away. She pauses for a moment, noting the sad look on the young Champion. "Why the long face?"
  • Iris
    Iris
Iris pouts, "You're leaving. I'm going to miss you."
  • Shauntal
    Shauntal
"Aw, well you're welcome to call anytime. Though if I don't answer right away, I'm probably busy.." There was a nervous laugh from the spectral beauty. She now had a list of reasons as to why she would be busy.
  • Iris
    Iris
Though still pouting, Iris nods, "Okay, you've got yourself a deal! Please be careful during your trip to Sinnoh."
  • Shauntal
    Shauntal
    "I will, I promise."
  • They shared one last embrace before she made her way to the front of the building. She was expecting one of the local drivers to take her to the airport. However, as she got to the door, her lavender eyes grew wide with excitement. Arms opened wide, she jumped into the arms of her beloved. He caught her with ease, spinning her around as he pulled her into a gentle kiss. His right hand caressed her cheek.
  • Lucian
    Lucian
"Ready to go home, my love?"
  • Shauntal
    Shauntal
Shauntal leaned into his hand, dazed by his soft tone, "With you? Always. Whisk me away into your arms to a place where we can bask in each other's company, my love!~" she giggled as she held a hand out as if she were painting a scene before her for the two of them to gaze at together.
  • Lucian

Lucian, however, saw it as an invitation and gathered his beloved in his arms, carrying her bridal style as he kissed her forehead, "As my lady wishes. We shall be delivered to a place only we know as our own, posthaste. Hold tight, my dearest Shauntal."
  • In a moment's notice, the pair were teleported into the living room of Lucian's home. Shauntal was still not used to being in the trance of teleporting, but she was grateful for him holding her. Teleporting always took so much energy out of her and made her stomach turn. She leaned into his shoulder, feeling the fatigue of the past few days catch up with her.
  • Shauntal
    Shauntal
"Thank you for taking me home. Would you mind if I rested in your arms for a short while? I'm so exhausted.."
  • The last thing she recalls before her eyes fluttered closed, was Lucian moving them to a nearby couch and draping a throw blanket over the two of them. He kissed her neck, whispering something in her ear. All she could muster the energy to say was three simple words she would never tire of uttering for the rest of her life.
  • Shauntal
    Shauntal
    "I love you. . ."
  • Allowing sleep to sweep her off her feet, she drifted off into a dreamless sleep in the arms of her beloved.
