Three Hearts / Chapter Thirteen: Jealousy is Not Pretty
Three Hearts
  • The full moon had risen. There was a sudden change in Heli. He began to levitate while he was asleep. Athena had noticed this. But suddenly, she saw an ominous shadow, lifting up Heli. And he was still asleep.
  • The shadow was in the shape of a woman about Athena’s age. But Athena knew exactly what the shadow was.
  • Sooha!
  • The next morning, Heli woke up to find a bruise blooming on the side of his neck. He felt the torturous pain. He rubbed it continuously.
  • Athena knew that it was from the incident at bedtime. She knew that Heli was slightly injured. She then prevented him from rubbing it anymore.
  • “Don’t,” she said in a soft whisper, “You’ll make it hurt more.”
  • She then pulled Heli’s hand closer to her chest.
  • Heli sighed.
  • “I’m sorry,” he said, “It just feels uncomfortable. I never felt this much pain before.”
  • “I’m sure you haven’t. Has anything changed about you yet? The final day of the full moon was just yesterday.”
  • “Well, boys like me would somehow grow a bit taller. But if it’s hybrids, then…they say that they would have to use their wings for a little while. Sometimes they would have to fly away for a while. But I think my transformation has been completed.”
  • Meanwhile Zeha and the Seven Fates were having their talk.
  • “Why is it in your desire to get rid of Heli?” asked Vincent, “Heli is like, what? Important to both the Blood Altar and to the princess Athena. You tear them apart, then we have a war on the run.”
  • “I agree,” said Thomas Wang, sipping on a glass of white wine, “If we rid the year’s prom king, we don’t stand a chance with Athena, our Serpentine Princess. Those two are soul mates, I hope you know! They belong together!”
  • And then, the whole squad decided to join in. Oliver Rou then frowned.
  • “Why are you speaking of such negativity?” he asked.
  • Hosu tapped on his shoulder.
  • “They want to kill Heli!” he exclaimed.
  • “I don’t want to kill Heli,” said Zeha, “I just think that he is quite a terrible influence on her, that’s all. I just don’t think they are ready to love each other.”
  • “Haven’t you seen them last year?” asked Vincent, “They were so inseparable. You couldn’t even plan a day to speak with any of them. At all!”
  • “I’m afraid Vincent has a point,” said Haru, “Heli recently had lost his mum and dad. It must have been hard for him to find someone that will always be close to him.”
  • “At most times, I would really feel bad for him,” said Cein, “If I were to lose my family, then I would have a hard time to find positivity for a long while.”
  • *~*~*~*~*~*
  • [Meanwhile, with the Blood Altar:]
  • “Jacob! Pass me the napkin, will you? I feel as if I’m going to sneeze!” shouted Jaan, rubbing the nostrils of his nose.
  • Jacob raced to the other side of the bedroom and quickly snatched a tissue paper from the tissue box.
  • But suddenly, ACHOO!
  • Jacob felt guilty for not giving his own best friend the tissue paper in time.
  • “You don’t need to apologize,” Jaan said, “I am the one at fault.”
  • Jaan took the tissue and blew his nose that made the sound of an elephant. Solon and Jakah entered the room with a cold expression on their faces.
  • “Why the long faces?” asked Jacob, “Usually you both would have a smirk between your lips.”
  • “We have completely lost Heli,” said Solon, “Jakah was on the verge of tears when I told him the news.”
  • “It’s true,” said Jakah, struggling to fight the tears in his eyes, “Heli has been so good to us, and now he wants to be with a girl!”
  • “That does not sound horrible at all,” said Noa with Jino, “If Heli wants to be with a girl, then we shall let him be with a girl. But he would have to be careful. We don’t know what Athena is capable of. And there has been a rumor that Sooha is on the prowl again. Jesus!”
  • “I remember her,” said Solon, “She was one of those people that pretend to be good when they are potentially evil.”
  • “So what can we do about it?” asked Jaan, “We can’t just follow them around, It’s only going to make them uncomfortable.”
  • “Well, we have to protect Heli and his girlfriend!” Jino said, “Otherwise, both will be hurt, and we would possibly lose them.”
