Taken Prince
  • Namjoon's P.O.V.
  • As I worked within Y/N's marketplace once more, I caught sight of Daniel making his way toward me. A beam of cheerfulness crossed my visage as I greeted him, but to my dismay, he did not reciprocate the salutation.
  • "Namjoon! If I may be so bold, the people you are staying with are the owners of this establishment, are they not?" he inquired with a tone of urgency, his countenance contorted in displeasure.
  • "Indeed, they are. But pray tell, why do you ask?" I queried, my countenance now mirroring his confusion.
  • "You once mentioned to me that they did not believe you to be the prince, correct? And did they not also change your hair so that you might not be recognized?" he inquired further.
  • "Indeed, they did. But what is the significance of this, Daniel?" I questioned, my brow furrowing with puzzlement.
  • Daniel sighed deeply before answering, "Namjoon, forgive me for what I am about to say, but your hosts are not to be trusted. Upon conducting a thorough investigation, I have ascertained that they are among the most prominent mafia clans in this country. For years, they have been targeting the royal family and have clearly taken advantage of your situation. They altered your appearance and obscured your identity not to serve your best interests but to fulfill their own nefarious purposes. Their intentions are to prevent anyone else from discovering your whereabouts."
  • I stood there in shock, my thoughts racing at this revelation. Could it truly be that the very people who had taken me in were deceiving me? I must ponder this matter and decide on the best course of action.
  • "Pray tell, what course of action should I undertake now? Should I seek a new abode or resign myself to the streets?" I inquired.
  • "Nay, that would be useless. The family in question is a notorious mafia clan, Namjoon. They shall persist in their pursuit of you," replied Daniel. "However, I do have an idea. Does their daughter frequently accompany you?"
  • I assented. "Indeed, we do share sleeping bedrooms."
  • "Then it is likely that she is acting as a spy for her parents, divulging your whereabouts and activities," he surmised. "My proposal is to make her enamored with you. If she comes to adore you, she will take your side. But beware of falling for her in turn, my lord."
  • "You are advising me to make her fall in love with me? How may I accomplish this task?" I exclaimed incredulously.
  • "I cannot say, my prince. May good fortune be with you. I must depart now. Farewell!"
  • "I cannot believe this is happening," I muttered to myself as Daniel left. Making the daughter of a mafia family fall in love with me seemed like an impossible task. Nonetheless, I knew I had to try.
  • I spent the next few days observing and trying to find ways to connect with her. She seemed unapproachable at first, but as time went by, we started talking more. I learned that she had a passion for music, just like me.
  • Using our shared interest, I invited her to sing with me. We spent hours practicing and before I knew it, I found myself starting to enjoy her company. However, I had to remind myself of Daniel's warning not to fall in love with her.
  • As we spent more time together, I began to suspect that she was indeed working with her parents. She would ask me questions about my past and my family, and I noticed her reporting back to her parents afterwards.
  • I had to tread carefully, but I continued to spend time with her and slowly gained her trust. Eventually, I found an opportunity to sneak into her parents' office and discovered evidence of their involvement with the mafia.
  • With the help of Daniel, we were able to gather enough evidence to bring them to justice. As for the daughter, I had to let her go. It was a painful decision, but I knew it was for the best.
  • I had finally reclaimed my rightful place as the prince, but the experience taught me a valuable lesson: trust is not easily given, and one must always be cautious of those around them.
  • Dear reader, I must confess that what I said earlier was merely a product of my wild imagination. I did not sing with Y/N, sneak into her parents' office nor went back to the castle, most certainly not without a woman to marry. However, I do trust Daniel's judgment and will attempt to follow his advice. But rest assured, I have no intentions of falling in love with Y/N. I only wish for her to develop feelings for me so that I can extricate myself from this precarious situation with the mafia. As a prince, I have a responsibility to marry a well-bred woman, preferably a princess, and certainly not a criminal! I cannot allow my heart to be swayed by a mere infatuation. I am a prince, Namjoon, and I must act accordingly.
  • I earnestly hope this goes well!
