Lindsay was preparing dinner when there came a knock on the door.
“Who could that be?” she asked.
Lindsay opened the door and was surprised to see another old friend.
“Marianne Kingsleigh!?”
“Hello!” said a little boy next to Marianne.
“And Sherman Kingsleigh!?”
Marianne and Sherman weren’t the only ones coming to visit, two other girls walked up towards the house. When Ronan walked out of his house, he and Lindsay made a beeline.
“I can’t believe you guys are here!” Lindsay said.
“Yeah! Wait, why are you guys here?”
“Well who else wanted to see our favorite amazing future actor…from Disney?”
Lindsay and Ronan looked at each other bewilderedly.
In a nervous laugh Lindsay said, “Come on in!”
Everyone was settled once again in the condo, Marianne became very anticipated for some particular reason…but in a cheerful way.
“The reason why we decided to pop in was that something came up on our Facebook memories!”
“What is it?”
“Take a look!”
In a flash, Lindsay ran up to grab her phone and ran back down the stairs. As soon as she pulled up the picture, everyone’s jaw dropped once more.
“No way!” Melanie exclaimed as her hands clutched on her head, “Is that Ashley, or Sabrina?!”
“Sabrina!” Lindsay said in a motherly tone.
“I remember that day when we rushed out of the shopping center to see that kid sing!” Marianne squealed.
“Me too!” Lindsay said.
“But since Gottfried isn’t here, you might want to write it out.”
As for that, the two girls took out their phones and pulled up their notepad app.
“When did this first happen?” Kaylie asked.
“From October 27, and November 5, 2007.”
“So that’s…9 days?” Melanie asked.
“Yup!”
Peri said as she walked in the living room. Ronan scratched his head.
Why? he thought, Why am I still confused about my extended relationship with Sabrina?
Still in perpetual disbelief, Ronan was going to learn more as soon as Lindsay started the story.

(OCTOBER 27, 2007)
It was a beautiful morning in Galway. Sabrina was in a happy mood that day.
After springing out of bed and getting dressed, Sabrina asked as she came downstairs, “Mom, what should we do today, since it’s Saturday?”
“I think we’ll be busy today. We have actually our first meeting at Marianne Kingsleigh’s office by the Galway Shopping Center.”
“That means Ronan’s going, too, doesn’t it?”
“Yup!”
Sabrina sadly frowned, and went outside. Sabrina knew the Irish city for nearly 13 years! Her house was across the street from the school, where Ronan took piano classes once a week.
Sabrina sat down at the front porch of her house and curled up. But she didn’t cry. She was just angry. Mainly disappointed.
And from that moment, Lewis, who was part of her drama club, came from the same route.
“A beautiful day, isn’t it?” Lewis said as he patted her head.
“Yup!” Sabrina said when she shot her head up.
“Were you crying?”
“No, I’m just disappointed, really. I was a little mad before. But not for long.”
“Why?”
“Well…you know what, I am mad! I’m really, really mad! I want to hang out with my mom and Ronan today, but they have…they have…that…that…that stupid historical meeting at a work building today, and I’m not even allowed to go and visit them during those meetings, not even a little quick visit! All I’m trying to say, Lewis, is that I just want to be with Ronan for just once! But the auditions for that stupid movie, and now this!? How am I going to see him now?!”
Sabrina stood quiet to calm down.
She then said, “What are those meetings for, anyways?”
“Bonfire Night, but why?”
“I’m just asking.”
Lewis sat down next to Sabrina.
“I’m starting to think you like Ronan.” he said.
“Well, I do, but…we’re just friends. And yet, he’s got a winning smile and beautiful eyes and he’s so unusually talented and–”
“You have a crush on Ronan, don’t you?”
“I don’t! Like I said, we’re just friends!”
Right at that moment, Lewis asked, “When are your rehearsals for the The Musical Awards?”
“You mean sound checks?”
“Yeah!”
“Tomorrow!”
“What time?”
“10:40am!”
“Location?”
“Town Hall Theater! It’s a couple minutes away from the mall, and Marianne’s workplace!”
“Coolio!”
Before Sabrina could say anything else, the sound of Lindsay’s car was heard, and then Ronan’s car was also heard.
“Too-da-loo!” he said as the car sped away.
Sabrina’s eyes welled up with tears, some fell on her face, and she broke down crying.
“Cheer up, Sabrina,” Lewis said, “You’ll get to play with them soon.”
Sabrina smiled again and went back in the house. An hour later, she went to Marianne’s workplace. Her workplace was on the top of the big and tall building. The elevator dinged and the first thing Sabrina saw was the view from 1,090 feet below.
“My god!” she said to herself, “We are so way up high!”
One of the doors opened and out came Marianne, Lindsay, Ashley, and Ronan, and the supporters of the Bonfire Night performance.
She had to make sure that no one noticed she was actually there. Marianne had a son, who took notice when Sabrina saw a video (a hilarious one) of Ashley falling down the stairs while wearing Lindsay’s heels!
“Who’s that hot thing?” he asked in awe, “She’s so beautiful!”
Sabrina laughed so hard, Ronan almost noticed her!
I recognize that laugh! he thought, I think I hear Sabrina! But she’s at home, what’s going on?
In perplexity, Ronan turned to look at the spot Sabrina sat…but she was soon gone. Sabrina got home in relief. The two cars pulled up.
Quickly, Sabrina made sure to put everything away to make it look like nothing happened. Unfortunately, and fortunately, she fell asleep after running around in the house all day, and from running home from the mall.
When she awoke, Lindsay went inside Sabrina’s room.
“Had a good nap, I see! Were you tired while we were gone?”
“A little, how was the meeting?”
“It was…great! Ronan had fun! Same thing with Marianne’s son, Sherman. By the way, Sherman supposedly said something about a ‘hot girl”. Whatever that means. Anyways, it was good!”
“Good!”
Later on in the evening, Sabrina went to sleep. Sabrina sadly looked up.
I wish there was a way I could see my dear friend without anyone noticing me.
And with that, Sabrina had an idea!

(OCTOBER 28, 2007)
In the morning, Sabrina dressed up like she was a teacher, and walked to Marianne’s workplace.
As she arrived at the top, she saw everyone sitting down. Sabrina was in the printing room, and she grabbed the papers that had the same date as the meeting. Sabrina passed the papers to Marianne.
“Oh, thank you, but you didn’t have to do this. Did you?”
“Ma’am, I can assure you, I’m going to be a huge help while I’m here!”
“Well,” Marianne said with a smirk as she passed a big pile of papers, “In that case, can you take this to the office room 223? That would be great!”
Sabrina is known for being a fast deliverer.
A couple minutes later, “Did it, and done!”
Marianne’s jaw dropped!
“Oh, I better get going! Too-da-loo!”
And off she went…for her soundcheck of course!
Later, “You’re soundcheck at the Town Hall Theater was by chance dynamite!”
“You thought it was pretty awesome, didn’t you?”
“Yup! Who would have thought you could sound like an angel?!”
“Myself?”
“Oh, right. Yourself.”

(NOVEMBER 2, 2007)
October came and went; it was on a Friday then, the end of another school day. Sabrina felt lonely. And since it was because of Ronan’s audition for Marcellus.
Sabrina spotted Ronan and sat with him on a bench near the playground. Sabrina smiled and giggled.
“Something wrong?” Ronan asked.
“Nope!” Sabrina replied.
Sabrina noticed that Ronan had his phone out. Sabrina was on her phone too. Her hand then creeped closer to Ronan’s hand. And then…his hand moved away. Sabrina was distraught. Ronan saw the sad look on her face.
And so, he put his arm around her shoulder and, suddenly, Sabrina found herself resting on Ronan’s shoulder. Sabrina fell asleep for a moment, until Lewis ran up with Claire.
“Huh?!” they exclaimed.
Sabrina woke up for a moment, and then went back to sleep.
Ashley ran up to Lewis and Claire, and ecstatically said, “What’s going on here?”
“Ronan,” Claire snickered, “Is that your girlfriend?”
Ronan’s jaw dropped as Claire, Lewis, and Ashley laughed.
“I’m who’s girlfriend?” Sabrina asked as she woke up.
“Ronan’s!” Claire said as she pointed at them.
“Well,” Sabrina said, “We’re not really…‘in love’ with each other. Are we?”
“No, we’re just friends.”
“Oh, really?” Lewis said, “Then why is your arm around her shoulder?”
Sabrina sat up straight and Ronan took his arm off of her shoulder. Lewis saw that happy look on Sabrina’s face.

(NOVEMBER 4, 2007)
There were the official rehearsals for The Musical Awards. Meanwhile, Sabrina was nearby Marianne’s office, where she secretly placed a note on Ronan’s assigned seat. While the meeting started, Ronan read the note:
|The Musical Awards is sadly on the same day as the Bonfire night performance. My part in the performance is actually right when the event ends! I hope you find a way to come over!
All the best, Sabrina.|
Ronan had a distraught look. But that look changed as he got an idea, and then everyone got to work!

(NOVEMBER 5, 2007; 2:15pm)
The launch of the Bonfire Night performance, and The Musical Awards started. Ronan had his performance…while Sabrina waited.
“Come on, you guys, hurry up!” she said.
For the outside of the shopping mall, stood a mural of those who stood up for Guy Fawkes. Marianne and Lindsay gave a speech. But time was running out!
How were they going to get to the Town Hall Theater in time for Sabrina’s performance?
Ashley got really anxious!
“Can we please speed this up, I have to see my sister perform at the concert!”
Marianne did speed it up, but she stopped abruptly.
“Why do I need to speed this up?”
Ashley and Ronan stammered, but Sherman stood his ground.
“They need to see a special friend of theirs sing live in front of millions and millions of people!”
Marianne was shocked!
“Is that true, Lindsay?”
“Yes!” Lindsay said, “It is!”
“Oh, wow,” Marianne said compassionately, “I never knew how much that meant to you!”
And then Marianne gave up.
“Oh, alright, we can go.”
“Yeah, and we better hurry,” Ronan said, “We only have 3 minutes to get to Town Hall Theater, thank goodness it’s 2 minutes when you drive!”
And in 2 minutes, everyone drove the way to the Town Hall Theater. But Sabrina was this close to getting on stage.
Within 5 seconds, there was a voice that said, “We’d come a-courting! You’ll do great, I know it!”
“Ronan!” Sabrina said as she hugged him.
“How did you get here?”
“After reading your little letter, I couldn’t go home without seeing you perform a beautiful song!”
“You came for me? That’s…that’s so sweet!”
“What are best friends for?” Ronan rhetorically asked.
“Ladies and gentlemen, to sing the song ‘The Girl I Mean to Be’, from ‘The Secret Garden’, please put your hands together for the talented girl that’s playing our lead role for the show tonight…Sabrina Watterson!”
“Go get ’em, tiger!” Ronan said as his lips tickled Sabrina’s head. And then Sabrina walked onstage.
Applauds came through; Sabrina took at least 5 bows. But the audience could not stop appreciating that broadway voice.
.
.
.
“I can’t believe Sabrina did that!” Kaylie said, with emotion.
“She looks like me when I sang in ‘The Secret Garden’.” Melanie replied.
“I feel oh-so-grateful that we all came rushing down the city to see that kid sing!” Lindsay said.
While they talked, Sabrina quickly went downstairs to grab a snack and ran back upstairs.
After everybody went home, Sabrina laid on her bed and said to herself, “Have I been…renewed? I must have been…right?”
