Saranghae (사 랑 해)
  • Hi guys!
  • So sorry that this is late. I've been in pain all week! Anyway, here's the sixth chapter.
  • Thank you for reading! I really appreciate it!
  • ________________________________________________________
  • I wake up as Sun-Hi pulls up into the venue parking lot. I help her look for a parking spot in the very full place. It took about 5 minutes to find a space to park and I wish that I had used those 5 minutes to rest more. Still, I'm happy to get out of the car and stretch my legs.
  • I look at Sun-Hi as we walk towards the somewhat long line for the entrance, seeing her bouncing on the balls of her feet. Somebody's excited. I smile a little at her excitement and take my place in line. I wish that I had brought snacks, seeing as the concert isn't starting for hours.
  • I really want to be mad at Sun-Hi for not only waking me up at an early time but making me stand in a line for HOURS. But I can't because I know she came this early so the line won't be as long as it would if we came at a later time. Which is nice because there is only about 30 people ahead of us.
  • I try to keep myself busy by playing little games on my phone when I hear a bag. I look for the noise to see Sun-Hi pull various snacks out of her enormous purse. I was wondering why she brought that big thing to a concert. I see Orion Choco Pies, KKokkalorn, banana milk, and other tasty snacks.
  • I let out a small cough as she opens some Honey Butter chips. Sun-Hi looks towards me with a confused look, so I cough again and nod my head towards the pile of snacks. She then realizes what I'm asking for and slightly moves her purse towards me.
  • I thank her and when I look inside the heavenly bag, I cry a little. Even if I don't enjoy the concert, the snacks will be enough to make me happy. I grab some Choco Pies, banana, strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate milk. Sun-Hi looks at me a little weird seeing the milks in my hand, but I pretend I don't notice. I loved all of the milks and I could never choose just one, so when I go shopping for snacks, I get all.
  • I loved food a lot and friendships were ended because of it. There are so many different kinds of food to not appreciate it in all its glory. Anyway...Now I'm happily munching on some snacks while waiting for the concert doors to open.
  • Sun-Hi and I make small talk about what we think the concert is going to be like while waiting. I look around seeing a pretty good share of guys in line too, which honestly surprised me. The band must be really good to bring both genders out for the concert.
  • Lots of hours and raiding Sun-Hi's food stash later
  • About an hour and a half before the concert starts, the security guards start letting people in to get settled in. It's a little difficult moving my legs after staying still for hours, but Sun-Hi is there to hold me up before I fall.
  • When Sun-Hi and I finally get to the front doors, we have to put our things through a security check and show ours tickets. It makes sense since I'd heard of crazy fans doing things to harm idols. We get past the guards and go the way everyone else is going. After walking for a few seconds, we enter the venue.
  • I can feel myself starting to get a headache looking at the thousands of seats. But luckily, the sections and seats are labeled. The tickets said that we were in Area 5, Section 2, and seats 9 and 10. Those are pretty good seats. It's right in the middle of the venue, not too close to the stage and not too far enough to not hear clearly.
  • It took a couple of minutes for Sun-Hi and I to get to our seats and sit down. I open up my phone to kill some time and see a text from my mom.
  • ____________________________________________________________
  • Mom
  • Mom: Hey honey! Your father and I were wondering if you wanted to grab some dinner some time this weekend?
  • Me: Of course I would! Are you free on Saturday?
  • Mom: Of course honey. We can go to the place by your job. I'll tell you the time on Saturday.
  • Me: Ok, see you later then. Love you Mom.
  • Mom: Love you too honey.
  • ___________________________________________________________
  • Texting with my mom took most of the time away that when I looked up, the seats were almost filled. I looked at Sun-Hi to see her with almost every other person shaking with excitement. I wouldn't be lying if I said that they all look like children on a sugar rush.
  • I look at the time to see it's only about ten minutes before the concert starts. That's when I notice that the fans are chanting something.
  • "KIM NAMJOON!!"
  • "KIM SEOKJIN!!"
  • "MIN YOONGI!!"
  • "JUNG HOSEOK!!"
  • "PARK JIMIN!!"
  • "KIM TAEYHUNG!!"
  • "JEON JUNGKOOK!!"
  • "BTS!!!"
  • The chant was so loud that I had to cover my ears so my eardrums wouldn't burst, not hearing the last half of the cheer. The chants continued until somebody walked onto stage, the chants now turning into cheers.
  • The cheers got louder and louder as the group of seven walked to the center of the stage. I was trying to make out where the members were, until I saw a huge camera screen that let me see the members more clearly.
  • I started smiling from the energy surrounding me, until I saw someone. Jungkook. The person looked exactly like Jungkook, but it couldn't be him, right? It must be a super freaky coincidence because he looks exactly like I remembered.
  • My mind was in haze when the music started, lost in my thoughts. My vision went unfocused, only hearing the music and the cheers around me. I really liked the songs, more than I'd ever thought I would. But hearing that voice that sounded so similar to me, brought my mind back wandering.
  • But one thought cleared my mind. He's an idol now. It doesn't matter if I recognize him, he definitely won't recognize me. After realizing that my worries were meaningless, I really started to enjoy the concert. I remembered a piece of every song that played and made a note to listen to them again.

  • I remembered every song that played which wasn't hard since Sun-Hi was yelling every song name into my ear as it came on. I loudly vibed to every song that came on, not being able to resist the temptation to dance and sing along. I was having so much fun that the time flew by.
  • After the last song, the lights dimmed and the members sat in chairs that suddenly appeared in the middle of the stage. I silently put my things that I had gathered down, thinking that the concert was over.
  • Now that the members are all sitting down and not jumping around like earlier, I can see their faces clearly. And the weird thing is that they all look familiar to me. I feel like I should know these guys, but my crappy memory definitely isn't helping the situation.
  • "ARMY!" One of the guys shout. His smile was so big that I'm sure his face had to hurt.
  • "This is the moment that you've all been waiting for!" Another one says with a tone filled with anticipation.
  • "It's finally time to pick the winner for the backstage fan meet!" It seems like all of the members are going to say one part each of whatever speech they have. Then Jungkook holds his microphone up to his mouth and my heart starts going crazy. Luckily, I jump inside my body and punch some sense and calmness back into it.
  • "The winner of the backstage fan meeting is in Area 5..!" Jungkook says.
  • "Section 2!" One with dimples say after he picks up his mic from dropping it earlier.
  • "AND....." A short one says with a smile that hides his eyes.
  • "Seat 9!" One that looks like he might pass out any second says.
  • "Congratulations to whoever is in this seat, and we'll see you backstage!" I almost fall out of shock from the sudden yelling coming from my side.
  • I'm sad that I have to look away from the total hotties on stage, but I need to fix whatever issue is going on near me. I hold my ears and look around, ready to give whoever's yelling a piece of my mind.
  • I turn to my left to see Sun-Hi yelling at me and pointing at my seat. I look at her confused, wondering why she trying to kill my ear drums. I look around to see if other people are reacting the same, but all I get are glares from the surrounding people.
  • Oh my god. Who spit in their cereal? Then, Sun-Hi's incoherent screeches turn into words.
  • "OH MY GOD!! JAE-HWA! THEY JUST CALLED YOUR SEAT! YOU GET TO SEE THEM BACKSTAGE!" Sun-Hi yells as she shakes me. When I'm able to breathe again, I shake Sun-Hi just as much.
  • "WHAT. THE. H*LL. IS. WRONG. WITH. YOU?!" I seethe in anger and annoyance. I realize that she's happy that my seat was called for the backstage meeting, but shouldn't I be the one that's excited? I silently glare at Sun-Hi, waiting for her to calm down.
  • "I'm sorry. I'm-JUST SO HAPPY FOR YOU! Don't forget about me. I'll wait with you." Sun-Hi finally calms down and apologizes. I nod and face the screen again. The members talk more about how they will miss 'ARMY' and how much they enjoyed spending time at the concert.
  • After a while of talking, the members all stood up and bowed, heading to backstage. The fans started to leave, while I just stayed in my seat. I didn't get to hear what I was supposed to do for the backstage meeting, no thanks to Sun-Hi.
  • I decided to just stay in my seat and see if someone would come to get me. Sun-Hi of course stayed with me, not wanting me to be alone. I appreciated it and that made me almost forget about her over excited actions earlier.
  • After what felt like 10 minutes and almost everybody cleared out of the venue, a bulky guy in all-black came up to me. He looked suspicious and I was ready to throw hands, but luckily He was just security.
  • "Hello miss. I'm here to bring you backstage to meet the members?" The security guy said. His voice was really not what I expected, being kind of high pitched. It contrasted with his bulk build, but it seemed natural on him.
  • "I'm sorry miss, but your friend can't come. The fan meeting only applies to one person." I look at Sun-Hi, trying to see how she would react. She just nodded her head and gave a wave. The security guard started moving, so I followed him. But not without giving Sun-Hi and second glance.
  • I thought that she would be sad or something, but I was quickly proven wrong when I got a message.
  • Bestie
  • Bestie: You better tell me everything later!
  • Me: lol, don't worry. I'll tell you all about it after. ;)
  • I smiled and faced forward, making sure I don't get myself lost. The walk took about five minutes and in those five minutes I managed to trip three times and bump into five random things. It wasn't entirely my fault. I was just looking around at the many things going on backstage.
  • Finally we stopped at a door. The security guard pointed to the door and bowed, leaving me by myself. I was about to open the door, until I started thinking. I seem to be doing a lot of that. But, I started thinking about what would happen if I opened the door. I would see Jungkook, maybe start crying and get looked at weird because he doesn't even remember me.
  • This was stupid. What was I thinking?
  • I turn to start walking back the way I came, but I trip on a loose chord hanging around. My fall created a lot of commotion and I know people heard. I hang my head down, cursing myself for being so clumsy, but when I go to get myself up, I hear a voice.
  • "Miss. Are you okay?!" A frantic and all-too-familiar voice says. Stay calm. Stay calm. Maybe if you don't move, you'll disappear. Let's try that! I stay still for a few seconds and I feel gentle but strong hands carefully lifting me up.
  • I curse at my plan not working and try to walk away. But the hands on my arm keep me from moving. I slowly turn to face the person that I'd never thought I see again, ready to get his reaction. I look up and wait to hear something, anything. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. See? I was being scared for nothing; he doesn't even remember me.
  • I'm about to laugh at my silliness until I hear soft sniffling. I look up to see Jungkook looking at me with wide and teary eyes, his bottom lip quivering.
  • Oop. Maybe he does remember me.
