Revenge / The Thief
Revenge
  •   Lilith had nothing, except for the few faithful daggers on her waist, and the scorched clothes on her back. She knew that anything that was hers, that was left at the castle, was either burned, or thrown away. She had no money and no home. She was luckily smart enough to take some apples and put them in her pocket. But she is determined to survive, determined to run Minerva straight to her death- and she was going to make it hurt.
  •         Hurt like the pain she gave her. How did she harness those flames? Unless- no. Impossible. She thought, dirt and rocks crunching underneath her as she walked. No one should have magic. It shouldn't exist. It's the type of thing in a story book that mothers read to their children.
  •         If Minerva did somehow have magic, how or where did she get it? Did she go to a forbidden witch? Did she pray to the gods for it?- and they granted her wish? She lifts her head up, snapping back to reality. Heavy footsteps were behind her in the woods, and they were slowly getting closer.
  •         She pretended to be oblivious, seeing if they would dare to get any closer, and they did. Their footsteps hurriedly  joined hers on the path, and Lilith quickly adjusted their tunic, hiding their belt. The footsteps were right behind her by a few feet. She sighed, and kept on walking.
  •         The footsteps ran up behind her, and suddenly, a sharp object was held against her back, right into a serious burn, making her cringe, making her stop. An arm of the person quickly wrapped around her neck. "What do you want?" Lilith asked in her best 'innocent' voice, pretending to be scared. She holds up her hands, forcing them to shake, and shows she is unarmed- or at least at the moment.
  •         "Give me the belt." A girl growled in her ear, digging the knife into her back. "I do not know what you mean!" She gasped. "Yes, you do. Don't even lie." She snarled, digging the knife in more. Lilith frowned, and dropped her hands. "Fine." She sighs, her voice dropping.
  •         She grabs the girl's hand at the elbow, and quickly brings it down to her crotch, flipping the girl over her, and landing on the dirt on her stomach. The knife falls on the ground behind them. Lilith keeps hold on her arm, twisting it, threatening to break it. "Wait, wait, wait, I'm sorry-" The girl pleaded rapidly, her blonde hair falling out of her loose braid. "Your name?" Lilith demanded.
  • "What?"
  •         "I said, your name?"
  •           "Naida Lennox." She whimpered. "And how old are you Naida?" Lilith asks, looking down at the tear-ridden face- now covered in dirt. "Seventeen-" She cried, attempting to kick Lilith, resulting in more twisting. She wasn't that much younger than her, surprisingly. She notices that Naida is looking at the knife behind them. "Don't even think about it." Lilith growled, twisting her arm even more. "I'm not!" She exclaimed, pounding the ground with her free hand, glancing back at the knife.
  •         "Why should I believe you, thief?" Lilith says bitterly, her burns throbbing and stinging. "I'm not a thief!" She yelped. "Oh? Then what are you?" She asks, twisting her arm more. "A human? If you break my arm-" Naida screeched, afraid. "What? You'll do what?" She smirked under her mask. It will be exceedingly easy to kill her. "This." She says calmly, a ghost of a smile appearing on her face.
  •                                              ```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
  •         Naida easily uses her open arm to spin on the ground, using the momentum to swing her leg under the masked woman standing above her. She hits the ground and Naida quickly stands up, and breaks out in a sprint down the path, towards Timeston. Who is she? Where did she get that impressive belt of daggers? Did she steal it from someone?
  •         Naida looked behind her, and the woman was already quickly chasing after her. She increased her speed, and so did the woman, who was speedily closing the distance between them. Naida ran as fast as she could, but it still wasn't fast enough to escape the woman's tackle.
  •                                              ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
  •          Lilith threw her hands around Naida, and they fell to the ground in a jumble. They rolled on the ground, and when they stopped, Lilith had her pinned to the ground. She quickly had a dagger in her hand. "That was extremely stupid." Lilith wickedly laughed. She was going to make Naida's death, slow and painful, for making her look like a fool.
  •        She closed her eyes, sighed and dropped her head onto the ground. "Don't kill me. Please." She whispered, the tears slowly coming back. "Give me one reason I shouldn't." Lilith growled. Naida's hair was now free from the braid, and was waving in the wind. "I know you killed that man." She sobbed. She must have been following her longer than she thought. "Good. Then you know what I am capable of." Lilith sneered, waving the dagger in her face.
  •         "I can promise you, if you let me go- I won't ever steal again, and I'll leave you alone, and you won't ever see me again." She pleaded for her life. She could just kill her, and she wouldn't ever see her again. She gave it some thought, but decided something else. "How about, you take me to your humble dwelling, and in the morning, I'll be on my merry way. Then maybe- I won't kill you." She says, noticing that the sun has already set.
  •         She looks up and opens her eyes, gives Lilith a confused look. "... Alright- As long as you don't slit my throat in my sleep." She says, her eyes narrowing. You trust too easily. She thought, looking into her amber eyes. "We'll see." She says mischievously, getting up off of her. They both stand up, and Naida turns her back to her. "Follow me." She says, attempting to sound calm, but Lilith knows she terrified. "Obviously." She growls, walking behind her
