Queen of Triads (BTS Mafia AU & Reader)
  • Later that evening, I decided to finally talk to Yoongi. I have been putting off this conversation for a week because I didn't quite know how to approach it. Especially since Yoongi had never forgiven me for sleeping with his girlfriend. At first I didn't give a damn, after all she was just one of my many toys, but when it occurred to me that he really loved her, I was a little dumbfounded. Especially when Kai ended up being hella mad at me for it and only his intervention stopped Yoongi from killing me. And then he made us both swear an oath to cooperate with each other as if nothing ever happened. I didn't have a problem with that, but still, just in case, I suggested that Yoongi should report only to Kai. I wanted to avoid unnecessary problems that could arise from unhealed wounds. Therefore, I was almost certain that after Kai's death, Yoongi would decide to withdraw from the group and move on to my uncle's group. However, it turned out otherwise, as he decided to keep his earlier word and decided to support Y/n. On the one hand, I was grateful to him for this, because her position was still weak and she needed the best possible men to be able to solidify it, but on the other hand... I was afraid that the old disagreements would make themselves known again, which would jeopardize the functioning of the entire group.
  • I finally reached Yoongi's apartment and knocked on the door. I hoped that I would find him and that I didn't come to see him for nothing. It was late, so he should have been inside, but more than once he sometimes happened to sleep at the shooting range. I didn't call him, however, because I knew he wouldn't answer the phone. He never picked up from me and it always had to be Xiao or one of our men calling him. I was about to knock again when the door opened and a sleepy Yoongi appeared in the threshold.
  • - You here? - he asked with a disgusted face - what do you want?
  • - I want to talk.
  • - Sorry, but you and I have nothing to talk to each other about. I work for Y/n, not for you - he tried to close the door, but I held it with my hand.
  • - It's precisely about her.
  • - Has something happened to her? - a shadow of concern flashed across his face - why hasn't anyone called me?
  • - Can I come inside?
  • - If you must.
  • Yoongi turned on his heel and disappeared into the depths of the apartment. I went inside quickly, closed the door behind me and followed him. I entered the small living room and glanced at him, who was standing under the window. He waved his hand impatiently at me, so I sat down on the couch and stretched my legs. Only under his urging gaze I began to speak.
  • - I came to you because I'm worried about Agnes. And besides me, you are the only person with whom she spends a lot of time.
  • - And what about this? If you came to tell me that it bothers you, you are only wasting your time.
  • - I came to ask you for help.
  • - For help? You? - he burst out laughing loudly - and how am I supposed to help you, huh? I won't influence Y/n and her behavior towards you in any way, if that's what you mean. She is an adult, so she can do whatever she wants.
  • - Even kill herself? - I looked at him, trying to remain calm.
  • - So that's what you mean? You are afraid that she will try to kill herself.
  • - I caught her with a gun put to her temple, do you understand?! - I jumped to my feet - and I'm afraid it will happen again, especially since she spent the last week, slithering unconsciously around the house!
  • - Are you that surprised?! She couldn't deal with her remorse after she killed in self-defense, because you once again *ed up!
  • - You know very well that it was better this way. Besides, she carried out everything so quickly that we didn't have time to react. That's why I was surprised by her behavior. After all, it was a good thing that she killed him herself, thereby gaining an obedience from the others.
  • - But she is not a machine, you understand?! She is not the same as you or me! Suddenly she has been dragged into it, and she has to adapt to all that is going on around her. Put yourself in her shoes! She just lost her husband! She was left all alone and suddenly the Elders require her to take over his role with the knowledge that if something goes wrong, they will kill her! In addition, she has to come to terms with the fact that she has to marry again, to someone who was imposed on her! Don't you think it's a little too much for one person?!
  • - She decided it on her own - I replied quietly - I didn't like the idea of the Elders either.
  • - But you didn't do anything about it. Give her time to adjust to it, and if you can, try to reduce the situations in which she will be the one who will have to reach for the gun. Reduce the danger to a minimum, and then the risk of her wanting to kill herself will also decrease.
  • - OK, I'll try to do that, but you....
  • - I'll keep an eye on her - he interrupted me quickly - if that's all you have to say to me, I'd like you to leave now.
  • - I understand, thanks Yoongi.
  • I rose from the couch and nodded gratefully to him. I was about to leave the living room when his quiet voice stopped me. I turned toward him and was surprised to see a wide smile spread across his face.
  • - Do you remember how much I wanted to kill you then?
  • - Yes, I remember.
  • - Now I'm glad I didn't, I'm very glad.
  • - Why?
  • - Because karma got you anyway - his smile became even wider - and I will enjoy watching you suffer.
  • - I don't understand what you're talking about - I turned my back to him.
  • - About the fact that you will forever be the second one. You will only be a poor substitute for her husband, whom she will never fully love. You will never take his place and you know it well. And knowing that you will love her without mutuality makes me really happy.
  • I left his apartment with a quick step and slammed the door loudly behind me. As I walked down the stairs, I could still hear Yoongi's laughter and his words in my ears. I had the urge to slap him for it, to wipe that silly grin off his face, but it wouldn't do me much good, because he was right. In the heart of Y/n for the rest of her life the main place will be occupied by Kai, and I will only be his substitute. Someone she will be bound to because she has to. On this point, Yoongi was also right. The Elders had put her in a no-choice situation, and even though I was happy that she had agreed to marry me specifically, I still knew that she had done it because she was forced to, not because she wanted to.
