“Oh, that’s my mom and my sister and brother.” I explain as I walk downstairs.
“You have siblings?” He asks following me.
“Yeah, but they’re both way older than me so they’re rarely home.” We walk into the kitchen. “Hi mom!” I hug her.
“Hi honey. How was-” She stops when she sees Taehyung. “Who’s this?”
“He’s a friend from school.”
“Kim Taehyung.” He shakes my moms hand.
“It’s very nice to meet you, Taehyung. Olivia didn’t usually bring her friends home so you must be special.” My mom says, making me blush.
“Mom, he’s just a friend.”
“Sure, honey.” She walks into the kitchen with my dad.
“Hey, squirt.” My older brother hugs me and ruffles my hair.
“Hey.” I hug him back. “I missed you.”
“I missed you too.”
“I missed you the most.” I say, hugging my sister.
“Me too Liv.” She hugs me tightly. “How’s school?”
“Easy.” I reply.
“And I see you made a friend.” She emphasized friend.
“Yes. He’s the only person who’s been kind to me.” I explain.
“And he’s cute.” She whispers.
“Oh shut up.” I rolled my eyes playfully, giggling.
“I’m glad I get to hang out with my sister for a few days before I go back to Japan.” She says.
“Me too.” I say. “And now for an official introduction. This is Taehyung.” A motion towards him.
“Nice to meet you.” My sister shakes his hand. “I’m Jennie.”
“It’s nice to meet you too, Jennie.” He replies. My brother hugs him.
“If you hurt her, I hurt you.” I hear him whisper, making Taehyung uneasy.
“Jin, stop it.” I pulled him away from Taehyung. “I told you, he’s just a friend.”
“We all know how this is gonna end anyway.” Jin says. “I’m just warning him in advance.”
“Yes, but you’re scaring him.” I explain.
“No he’s not.” Taehyung says. “I can take him.” He jokes. We all stare at him for his boldness.
“I like him.” My brother laughs, punching Taehyung’s arm. Taehyung chuckles.
“Well, we should go before you embarrass me any further.” I grabbed Taehyung’s arm and we walked outside to the porch.
“Your family is nice.” He says as we sit on the porch swing.
“Yeah.” I chuckle. Little does he know. “You know, you really didn’t have to stay for dinner. No one ever does.”
“I wanted to.” he said simply.
“Really?”
“Yeah. I want to get to know you better.” He smiles.
“Why are you doing all of this?” I ask.
“You want the truth?”
“Yes.”
He sighs before continuing. “I just think you’re a really sweet, kind person. I want to get to know you better.”
“Really?”
“Yes. And I know you’re not a social butterfly, but it’s nice to have some friends to talk to. So I want to be that friend. That person you can always count on.” He explains. I look away from him so he doesn’t see my eyes filling with tears.
“Thanks.” I said quietly.
“I’ll always be here for you.” He placed his hand over mine, making me flinch slightly.
