Hate to Love You / Training Day
Hate to Love You
  • I wake up to the sun shining on my face. I forgot to close the curtains. I slowly sit up and stretch my arms. I pick up my phone and nearly drop it when I see the time. Taehyung said breakfast was at 6:30 and it’s freaking 8:45. I rush to change into another plain white I wake up to the sun shining on my face. I forgot to close the curtains. I slowly sit up and stretch my arms. I pick up my phone and nearly drop it when I see the time. Taehyung said breakfast was at 6:30 and it’s freaking 8:45. I rush to change into another plain white tank top with blue leggings and a matching bra. White tennis shoes with salmon stripes on the side.
  • I run to the bathroom and slap on a tad bit of makeup and then run to the door. I slam it open and nearly fall to the ground when I smash into Taehyung.
  • “Are you ok?” He asks.
  • “Yeah but why were you at my door?”
  • “I was coming to wake you up. You missed breakfast by the way.” He says, turning around and walking toward the stairs.
  • “I know. I wasn’t really hungry anyway.” I lie, walking beside him.
  • “Well you’re gonna need the fuel for training. It’s pretty intense.”
  • “I’m sure it’s no more intense than what we do.”
  • “I don’t know about that.” He replies. “Anyway, I had the servants save you some bacon from breakfast. It’s in the kitchen if you want it.” He’s trying too hard.
  • “Thanks.” Is all I reply.
  • “The kitchen’s over there,” he points to the left. “Our first lesson starts at nine. For real, don’t be late this time.”
  • “I’ll try.” I reply, walking towards the kitchen. I knock on the kitchen door and a servant answers. “Taehyung said there was bacon saved for me.”
  • “Ahh yes. Are you-”
  • “Akari, yes.”
  • “Here you go.” The lady says.
  • “Thank you.” I take the bacon and walk towards the training area outside. I finish the bacon by the time I reach the training grounds.
  • “Finally, you’re here.” Sakura says, walking up to me. “The lesson starts in five minutes.”
  • “I’m sorry, I overslept.”
  • “I didn’t notice.” Aikoku says sarcastically, giving me a hug. “Did you sleep well?”
  • “Yeah. Did you?” I ask Sakura and Aikoku.
  • “I did.” He says.
  • “I couldn’t sleep. It’s too new. It’ll take me a few days to get used to it.”
  • “Well there’s no prince charming here for you Sakura so…”
  • “Don’t remind me. I can’t believe he’s your age and you don’t even like him.”
  • “It’s not my fault. I’m just not interested in guys right now. I need to focus on my training.”
  • “But-”
  • “Stop trying to convince Akari to like Taehyung. She doesn’t have to.” Aikoku says.
  • “Thank you, my favorite sibling.” I joke.
  • “You’re finally here.” Taehyung says, walking over to us. “My father instructed me to stay with you all for the day.” He stands right next to me and Sakura looks at me.
  • “So…Taehyung? If you were to date a girl, what would you want her to be like?” Sakura asks.
  • “Why are we talking about this?” I retort, rolling my eyes.
  • “Because I want to know if you’re his type. I like playing matchmaker.”
  • “Well,” he starts. “I like girls who are funny and sweet.”
  • “Check.” Sakura says.
  • “She has to be honest and trustworthy.”
  • “Check again.” She says.
  • “And I want her to be a good fighter and beautiful.” He glances at me. Again I roll my eyes.
  • “Check for the first one, not so much the second one.” “Wow, thanks a lot.” I say.
  • “Well, Akari’s definitely my type.” He finishes.
  • “Oh god.” I smack my forehead.
  • “Everyone gather around!” The instructor yells. We all gather around him. “Now we have three new trainees in our session. They will be with us for the next few weeks. Will you please introduce yourselves?”
  • “I’m Kimura Aikoku and these are my younger sisters.”
  • “I’m Kimura Sakura.”
  • “And I’m Kimura Akari.” I say.
  • “Well let me warn you, today will not be fun for you newbies. I’m your instructor for all three of your classes. Knife work, hand to hand combat, and gun training. You will call me Mr. Ha-da.”
  • “Are you ready?” Taehyung whispers.
  • “Of course I am. I’ll probably be the best in the class.” I brag.
  • “Don’t get arrogant. You have to finish the day first.” He bumps my shoulder.
  • “Well, fine. But I bet I’ll beat you when we run. I’m a fast runner.”
  • “I bet I’m faster.” He replies.
  • “Don’t bet on it.” I walk to Sakura.
  • “You two are perfect for each other.” She says.
  • “Just stop. I don’t like him.”
  • “Alright everyone! We are going to run five miles as a warm up before we begin.” Mr. Ha-da says. “Taehyung, you know the way. Go!” We all begin running on the path that Taehyung was leading us through. I ran up next to him.
  • “Hey there!” I say. “You’re slow.”
  • “Well we have to run five miles, so I’m pacing myself.”
  • “Well, the only reason why I’m not passing you right now is because I don’t know the way.”
  • “Just run around the lake twice. That’s all.” He says.
  • “Ok. See ya!” I run ahead of him and around the first curve of the lake. We usually run ten miles in our training time. This is nothing.
  • I finish a full lap before everyone else and stand by the instructor drinking water.
  • “You are very fast.” He says. “I’m impressed.”
  • “Thank you!” I say. “I’m also skilled in hand to hand combat and I’m good with guns.
  • Have you ever fought with a knife?” He asks
  • “No.”
  • “Then this next part of our training may be a bit difficult for you.” He says as the others arrive.
  • “Finally.” I say to Sakura.
  • “You’ve always been a faster runner than me.” She protests.
  • “Ok we are going to practice our knife skills. I want you all to find a partner.”
  • “Sakura!” I say.
  • “Sorry Akari, I’m with Aikoku already.”
  • “But-”
  • “I guess you’re with me for the day.” Taehyung grins.
  • “Oh joy.” I roll my eyes.
  • “Taehyung, Akari’s never used a knife to fight, so I need you to teach her.” Ha-da says.
  • “You’ve never done this before?” He asks, surprised.
  • “No, and?” I shrug.
  • “Well, you smoked me in running, I just figured you’d be better than me at this too.”
  • “Nope.” I reply.
  • “Well, then.” He walks to a bucket next to the instructor and returns with a plastic knife. “We can’t risk you hurting someone.” He says, handing me the knife.
  • “I’m sure this will be easy.” I say.
  • “Ok, so first you want to always make sure that you have a tight grip on the knife so no one can knock it from your hand.”
  • “Like I did to you a few missions ago?” I ask.
  • “Yes. That was an example of what not to do. I wasn’t expecting you to have such a powerful kick and I let my guard down.” He moves to stand right behind me. “You wanna hold it like this.” He guides my fingers and places them correctly on the knife. “Now don’t let me knock it from your hand.” He walks in front of me and tries to kick it from my hand. “Ok good. Lesson one, check.”
  • He continues teaching me techniques on how to hold it and how to stab someone with it. I failed on almost everything. How can fighting with a knife be so complicated? After a while, Mr. Ha-da had to help Taehyung teach me because I couldn’t get it. Ha-da wouldn’t let me move on until I executed it perfectly. I think he likes seeing me fail. Three hours later, knife training is finally over.
  • “You really need to practice this. It shouldn’t be that difficult. Even your other siblings have it down.” The instructor says to me.
  • “Yes sir.” I bow my head.
  • “Ok,” he claps. “You all have an hour break and then be back here for hand to hand combat.” He tells us.
  • An hour later……
  • “I can’t believe how bad I was at using a knife.” I say to Sakura.
  • “Don’t worry you’ll get it.” She encourages.
  • “But I failed horribly. And I’m pretty sure the instructor likes yelling at me and seeing me fail.”
  • “I don’t think so.” She replies.
  • “Well, I do.”
  • “Well I personally think you and Taehyung were so cute today. The way he had his arms around you trying to help you with the movements of the knife.” I roll my eyes.
  • “Of course you do.” I say as we walk back outside. Sakura looks at me with a grin as Taehyung walks towards us.
  • “Stop.” I whisper-yell
  • “You ready?” He says, standing next to me.
  • “Why do you keep asking me that? I’m not a helpless baby.” I retort.
  • “Because I’m supposed to be your guide for these next couple of weeks. I just wanted to-”
  • “Well stop. You’re trying too hard.” I snap and he stops talking. Sakura pinches me.
  • “Ow stop!” I smack her.
  • “Be polite, Akari.” She demands.
  • “Whatever.” I roll my eyes.
  • “Let’s begin!” Mr. Ha-da says. “Now I need a volunteer.” He says. I immediately raise my hand. “Are you sure you can do this?”
  • “Yes sir.” I reply.
  • “Ok then.” He says. “Now first I want you to choose one other person to combat.”
  • “Sakura.” I say. She walks to the front with me.
  • “Now Sakura,” Mr. Ha-da says. “I am going to give you this,” He hands her a small object. “And you have to keep it from Akari. She’s going to try her hardest to get it from you.” Sakura nods. “You may begin whenever you want.” He takes a step back. I smile sweetly at her and take a step forward. She puts the object in her pocket. I reach for her pocket and she grabs my hand. I grab her hand with my other hand and twist it behind her back. She groans in pain. I let go of her arm and kick my leg around her neck, knocking her to the ground. I sit on top of her, pinning her to the ground and grab the object from her pocket.
  • “Very good, Akari.” He says. I stand up and help Sukara up.
  • “Are you ok?” I ask her as she stands up. “Sorry.” I say
  • “I’m ok. I’m not a wimp.” She laughs.
  • “Now who wants to go against Akari next?” Ha-da asks. Taehyung raises his hand. “Taehyung is the best in this class. Good luck beating him. You will now be the one with the object and he’s gonna try to get it from you.” I nod and take the object. Taehyung walks to the front as Sakura walks back next to Aikoku.
  • “You ready?” I say, smirking at him.
  • “Are you?” He replies.
  • “Ready to smoke you, again.”
  • “Ok then.” He grabs the hand that had the object in it and twists it around. I grab the object with my other hand and throw it about six feet away from where we’re standing. He turns to walk towards the object. I quickly grab his arm and flip him on his back. He yelps. I rush to the object, grab it, and crouch next to Taehyung.
  • “Beat ya.” I stand up.
  • I continue to beat everyone that I combat. By the end of the class, Mr. Ha-da was annoyed that I beat all his trainees, because I’m the new kid. I was top of the class in gun training too. I hit the bullseye every time. After training, we all went back to our rooms to shower and get ready for dinner. Mr. Kim told us to dress nice for dinner today. I’m not sure why though. I finish showering and change into black pants with a white dressy shirt. I’m into white shirts. A black leather jacket, black boots, a bracelet that my sister gave me for my sixteenth birthday, and a necklace that my mother gave me when I was 7.
  • I grab my phone from the nightstand and step into the hallway. I lean against the wall and check social media. Suddenly I feel something scratching my legs. I look down and see the cutest dog I’ve ever seen with its paws on my legs. I put my phone in my pocket and bend down to pet it.
  • “Hey there buddy! What’s your name?” I ask it even though it can’t understand me or respond to me. “You are so cute.” I try to pick it up but it runs towards Taehyung’s room. The door is cracked open so the dog runs into the room. I’m sure Taehyung’s not in there if the doors open. I walk to the door and peek my head inside.
  • No one’s in here. I slowly open the door and walk in. The dog is sitting on the dog bed that’s facing the window. I walk towards the dog.
  • “Hey buddy. Don’t be scared, I'm not gonna hurt you.” I slowly kneel down by him. He sniffs my hand and starts licking it.
  • Taeyhung’s POV
  • I rummage through my closet, trying to find my button down shirt. I have the pants but I can’t find the shirt. I dry my hair with the towel I’m holding. Out of nowhere I hear someone walk into my room.
  • “Hey buddy. Don’t be scared, I’m not gonna hurt you.” It’s Akari. She must have found Yeontan. I walk out of my closet and lean against the wall, admiring Akari petting Tani.
  • “You’re so cute.” She scratches his ear. He yaps. “I bet you hate living here with your owner, Taehyung.” She says. “Is he mean to you?” She asks him. He wags his tail like he agrees with her.
  • “Traitor.” I say. She flinches and quickly stands up.
  • “Taehyung.” Her face goes red after seeing me shirtless. She immediately looks to the floor.
  • “What are you doing in here?” I ask.
  • “I uhh,” She clears her throat. “I was just uhhh following your dog in here. I thought you weren’t in here because the…the door was open.” She stutters.
  • “And why are you blushing?” I proceed.
  • “Umm.” Is all she says.
  • “Yes?” I say, walking closer to her. She glances at my chest and then looks back at the floor. “Is it because you’ve never seen a hot body like mine?” I tease.
  • “N-no. I just don’t like seeing….guys shirtless. T-that’s all.” She says. I walk right in front of her.
  • “Look me in the eye and tell me that.” I cross my arms. She looks up at me.
  • “I hate you.” She pushes past me and walks out of the room. I smile to myself. She’s cute when she’s flustered. I look at Yeontan.
  • “Do you hate me too?” I ask him. He walks to me and licks my toes. I pick him up. “I love you too buddy.” He licks my face.
  • End of Taehyung’s POV
  • I cannot believe that just happened. Why did I blush? I don’t even like him. I walk to Sakura’s room and knock on her door.
  • “Come in!” She says. I walk in, sit on her bed, and sigh loudly. “What’s wrong with you?”
  • “So..I was walking out of my room after getting dressed and saw this dog. It walked into Taehyung’s room and the door was half open so I thought he was gone. So I walked into the room and started petting the dog. Turns out he was in the room and he was shirtless. I quickly stood up and my face turned bright red. He said ‘Why are you blushing’ and I didn’t answer at first and then he said ‘Is it because of my hot body?’” I mock him. “And now my stomach hurts.” I say.
  • “WHAT!?” She says. “You saw him shirtless? Ooo Akari. I don’t think your stomach hurts, I think you have butterflies.” She sits next to me.
  • “What?” I ask.
  • “I know you like him. Or at least think he’s attractive.”
  • “No I don’t. Just because he’s good looking and super sweet and cute and has nice hair,” I begin imagining all that I'm describing about him. “And pretty eyes and perfect lips and great abs-” I look at Sakura who’s smiling widely. “Doesn’t mean I like him.” I finish quickly.
  • “You’re right.” She says.
  • “I know I am.”
  • “You don’t like him.
  • “Finally you’ve come to your senses.”
  • “You loooove him.” She teases.
  • “Stop.” I say. “It’s not funny.”
  • “I know it’s not. I’m serious.” She replies.
  • “Whatever. Let’s go. We don’t want to be late for dinner.” I say hastily standing up and walking out of the room.
  • “I’ll be down in a minute. I need to finish my makeup.”
  • “Ok. See you.” I close the door behind me. I start walking down the hall to the dining room and smile to myself. I immediately stop smiling once I realize who I’m thinking about.
  • “You can’t like him, Akari. If you do, one day he’ll hurt you. Don’t trust him.” I warn myself. I make it to the dining room and Taehyung and Aikoku are already sitting at the table.
  • “Hey sis.” Aikoku says.
  • “Hi. You’re early.”
  • “No. You’re just late.” He responds. I sit down at the table and look down at my feet. I feel Taehyung staring at me.
  • We all ate our dinner while talking about how we liked training. I was complaining about how bad I was at using a knife. Everyone else seemed to get it but me. Thankfully, Taehyung didn’t mention anything about what happened earlier but every time I looked at him, he smirked at me. He knew what he was doing. After we finished eating we all went to the seating area. Mr. Kim mentioned my birthday, which I guess he asked my father about. My birthday is in two weeks. I turn 17. He said he would be more than happy to throw a party for me. I couldn’t accept it at first but he finally convinced me. He said it would be a huge party with dancing and everything. I’ve always wanted a huge party like that. I thank him as I go back to my room. I change into pj’s and go to sleep.
