Escape From Breylin~Vampire/CEO JJK x Reader / CHAPTER 1 - ME, MYSELF, AND JUNGKOOK
Escape From Breylin~Vampire/CEO JJK x Reader
  • Jungkook sat atop the throne of skulls, chants bouncing off the walls around him as he licked his knife-like fingernails. Gold glistened and glimmered, gliding through the gleaming glades making up the glossy cave. There were spikes of grass peeking upcr acks between the and waving to Jungkook. He didn't bother waving back.
  • His minions bowed and offered him gold. They offered him prizes ranging from women to blood taken from royal families. However, all he desired was the blood of one mortal. A mortal who was beneath him, yet tempted him so much. flare whenever he was around her, and he barely could hide his fangs. Every time he smelled her, he had to rush to his office to hide his glowing eyes and drooling mouth. What was so irresistible about her? Why did he wish to sample her sweet taste?
  • Jungkook and Azazel descended the short staircase that was more like a lip, hopping off the stone slabs and halting when they were in front of the bowed men and women. Droplets of liquid falling off the walls harmed Jungkook's sensitive ears, and his scarlet eyes drank in the sight of the obedient servants before him. Hopefully the girl would become a servant like the rest. Hopefully her blood would be his prize.
  • A drop of blood was all it would take.
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
    "Y/n L/n,"
  • he said, ignoring the songs and cheers he received from the varying people in the cave.
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
"If you wish to win my favor, you are to stay away from her and let me handle it. If anything happens to her, I will kill all of you in your sleep. Have I made myself clear?"
  • They roared with understanding, applause reverberating down Jungkook's eardrums and making him hiss. They were quick to stop, Jungkook scolding them for daring to hurt his ears. Azazel nipped and clawed at them for disrespecting the king of Breylin while last Jungkook watched, stepping and going to the mouth of the cave. The dark sky waited for him, and he allowed himself to bask in it for perhaps a moment too long. After a beat, he found himself grinning, Azazel landing on his shoulder once more. the bat's ears, him purring and nuzzling against Jungkook's cheek.
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
    "She'll be mine,"
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
"Y/n L/n's precious blood will be mine."
  • 【~ 6 DAYS EARLIER ~】
  • Jungkook hated Mondays.
  • He sighed as he pushed his lower lip out, rolling his tongue on the inside of it before he brought it back in. The stale air of his spacious office made him ill. It floated around and poked at his nostrils, him biting back the urge to snarl. He could hear all the conversations from his subordinates even though they were several floors below him. It didn't help that he could feel every spec of wood on his dusty desk, the pads of his fingers shriveling up each time he so much as tapped the mahogany.
  • Light poured in through the windows that made up the entirety of his right wall. It felt like his office was a penthouse instead, but he wasn't complaining. After all, most vampires didn't have the luxury Jungkook did. There were only a handful of vamps who could step in the sunlight, and Jungkook was filled with pride when he realized he not only was one of them, but easily the most powerful of the bunch.
  • The fake plants making up the corners of the room had him rolling his eyes. Jin suggested decorations to make Jungkook seem friendlier. The truth was, Jungkook didn't care how people perceived him. At the end of the day, he was the most powerful vampire in New York, maybe even the world. On top of that, he was a prestigious businessman as well. There wasn't much more he could ask for.
  • As he basked in the natural light of his office, he yawned and stretched his aching limbs. The plants waved to him, but he ignored their greetings. With a huff and a sigh, he hopped off his spinning, cushioned office chair and tapped his feet against the polished floors that were so shiny, he could see his reflection in them. Huh. He was paler than normal today.
  • Jungkook had a meeting with his subordinates in a handful of minutes. It wasn't a meeting he was particularly looking forward to, but he knew he had to go through with it if it meant keeping the company happy. *, but he wasn't foolish. He could lose his empire if he dared to anger the ones who made it work. He liked to think of himself as a perfect CEO. Or maybe that was pride speaking on Jungkook's behalf
  • He found himself heading to the door, preparing himself to meet with Jin so they could go to the meeting together. However, fate had other plans. As soon as Mr. Jeon turned the slick golden handle of his door, his nose picked up on a new scent. It was distant, but unmistakably unique in a way he couldn't describe. Despite himself, he sniffed like a hound, his face coming closer to the wood in front of him as if it'd aid his quest.
  • Then, he realized the scent was too far. Like it had just walked in the building. With that, Jungkook stormed out of the room and into the long corridors. The lights were dimmed for sake of Jungkook's sensitive eyes, the color scheme dark, and the architecture done in a minimalist style. The cream-colored walls blended with the silver the elevator donned. Jungkook didn't bother with the flying box of doom. Instead, he zipped down the stairs, not caring that Jin was likely on his way up to meet his boss.
  • It took less than a minute for Jungkook to traverse the countless floors of the skyscraper called his office building. The lobby came into view, chandeliers bejeweled with fake diamonds hanging on the dark ceiling that felt like it was a mile away. The marble floors were alternating squares of black and white, Jungkook's pointed dress shoes tapping on the squeaky surface as he adjusted his suit, pulling up his tie and tugging on his sleeves to help conceal the tattoos on his arm.
  • The rest of the lobby didn't have much of note. A lounge area with couches and loveseats that matched the palette of the rest of the space. A front desk with two workers behind it, their fingers zooming over the keyboards in front of them. To top it all off, there were few people surrounding him. Jungkook's corporation was massive and respected, but they didn't get many visitors on Mondays. It seemed as though Jungkook wasn't the only one who hated Mondays with a burning passion.
  • That led Jungkook to her. His nose whined when it realized she was the one who caused it to suffer. His body dripped with hunger, his eyes threatening to flash their natural scarlet hue. Jungkook bite his cheek to prevent his true self from showing. If he did that, there was no escaping the cameras mounted on the walls littered with portraits of famous actors and directors.
  • He saw her there, waiting by the front desk with her formal attire hugging her body. It seemed much too tight for her frame, yet the sleeves were far past her wrists. The gray fabric played tricks on his mind, little strings hanging off the sides of her blazer. He chortled and observed, not paying attention to the workers who bowed when they walked by their superior.
  • Whoever she was, she smelled amazing. He could see the vein on her neck pulsing with each heartbeat, the hair tucked behind her ears frizzing in multiple directions. It didn't help that her makeup was two tones off, likely thrown on in a rush and not blended together. The same applied to the eyeliner that was much too light for her outfit. And yet, Jungkook didn't care. He didn't care about her appearance. She could look like a goddess for all he cared. All that mattered was that precious blood that hid beneath the surface; the precious blood that had him licking his lower lip without realizing it.
  • In a strange way, the blood seemed familiar. Perhaps that was why he was so drawn to it: maybe he had tasted her before. Over the years, Jungkook had more victims than he could count. She could have been one of the thousands, and he wouldn't have remembered. That was what brought him closer, striding toward her with his hands knit together behind his back.
  • The ladies sitting behind the front desk offered them their greetings, Jungkook returning them as he halted by the woman's side. She gave him a greeting, then went back to the front desk to complete whatever it was she was completing. Truthfully, in his lust for her blood, he hadn't thought to use his sensitive hearing to eavesdrop on what she was saying.
  • Aniyah
    Aniyah
"Mr. Jeon, how can we help you?"
  • one of the ladies behind the desk, Aniyah, asked, draping her braids over her left shoulder.
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
    "Just checking in. New recruit?"
  • he said, pointing his head to the one fiddling with her fingers. She gave him a nod, Aniyah smiling at the rookie's mannerisms.
  • Y/n
    Y/n
    "My name is Y/n L/n, I'm a new intern,"
  • she said, her voice stronger than he was expecting. There were no cracks, no stutters. It was almost as if she was a dominant force in the room, and he got all that just from a few words.
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
    "What position?"
  • Y/n
    Y/n
    "Marketing assistant."
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
"No need. I'll upgrade you to my personal assistant."
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
(Her eyes bulged, but Jungkook raised his hand before she could reply)"I'll pay you extra."
  • Y/n
    Y/n
"That's all you had to say."
  • He snickered, telling Aniyah to switch the role Miss L/n had. Knowing he would lose control if he stayed there any longer, Jungkook departed and bid his proper goodbyes to the women present. They were respectful, Y/n giving him a million thanks and even a bow before allowing Jungkook to run away.
  • Jungkook was quick to sprint up to his office, his fangs flashing and his eyes a deep scarlet that glimmered in the dim light of the concrete stairwell. No one else was around since the elevator was far more convenient. Jungkook took the opportunity to pace himself, panting despite how he wasn't tired. Who was that girl? Why did she have such a strong hold on him? The idea of tasting her blood had him gripping the metal railings until they bent in his grasp. He licked his fangs, his fingernails growing and slanting to become like knives. Then, he hid his vampire form as best he could and returned to his office, evading the cameras as best he could.
  • The door slammed shut behind him
  • Jin was in the room, sat in one of the two chairs placed before Jungkook's desk. The man didn't so much as flinch as Jungkook sauntered over, plopping down and folding his hands together on the desk. Although it was day, and he knew it was a * move, he still whistled the familiar high pitch.
  • In a flash, black fur came down and landed on his shoulder. Azazel tapped his feet against his master's shirt, Jungkook scratching his ears and smiling when the bat hummed.
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
    "Y/n L/n,"
  • Jin freezing up at that. His face went paler than it already was, Jungkook leaning a bit closer.
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
    "Do you know her?"
  • Jin
    Jin
    "No sir,"
  • Jin was quick to reply, his eyes on Azazel instead of Jungkook.
  • Jin
    Jin
"I saw her in the system as an intern, that's about it."
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
"Have you smelled her blood? Surely I'm not the only one who can. I've never smelled such a thing."
  • Jungkook leaned back and brought Azazel to his chest, the beast curling up there and spreading his wings as if hugging Jungkook. Jungkook continued to stroke the bat's head, scratching his ears and preparing Azazel for his next mission.
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
"Observe her. Don't let her hurt herself or do anything rash."
  • Azazel perked his ears up and got off Jungkook's chest, giving him a purr of approval before rushing into action.
  • The bat flew, soaring up to the vent Jungkook kept open so Azazel had a spot to rest during the day that was out of sight. Then, he disappeared, leaving Jin and Jungkook alone. The pair of vampires stared at one another, Jungkook tapping his index finger against the wood, his smirk illuminated by the light above him.
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
"Mr. Kim, would you be so kind as to prepare a meeting for me?"
  • Jin
    Jin
"Of course, sir. I can make one whenever you'd l-"
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
    "Not for here,"
  • Jungkook said, not caring he interrupted.
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
“I can make my own company meetings. No, I mean with Breylin. Get my high-ups, get my servants, get whoever is willing to come. Bring them to me as soon as you can. I want my clan to know about this woman, and how I need her blood."
  • At Jin's hesitation, Jungkook pressed his elbows on the desk, his muscles stretching against the fabric of his clothes. The simple motion had Jin dipping his head and hopping to his feet, backing away as if Jungkook had a plague.
  • Jin
    Jin
    "Right away, sir,"
  • Jungkook sat back on his chair, placing his feet on the desk and rubbing his fingers together. The door was shut, Azazel and Jin were gone, and he had a new assistant who was being processed at that very moment. Jungkook found himself grinning, the scarlet hue never dissipating from his eyes. Y/n L/n. His new personal assistant.
  • This was gonna be fun.
