  • I was still a newbie. Even though I had genius dance moves.
  • Jake then skipped after me. But I got mad. I turned off the camera, and stormed back to our dorm.
  • He doesn’t even know I am on that day!
  • After cleaning myself up in the bathroom, I jumped on the bed me and Jake were sharing. I then fell asleep for a few seconds, before Jake entered in quietly.
  • “Y/N,” he said softly, caressing my head, “Are you alright?”
  • But I didn’t answer. I groaned in pain from my lower tummy. But it wasn’t from what I ate.
  • “Are you having cramps?” he asked.
  • I quickly (and gently) moved flat on my back. I saw his sweet puppy face. Jake then smiled and cupped my face.
  • But then I thought, We are just friends. What is going on? Does he have a crush on me?
  • “I’m so sleepy,” I said, “I never feel it this way, though. I might have to rest some more.”
  • “The only way to soothe the pain is to dance and exercise. I think with training classes, you will probably feel much better.”
  • “You know what is happening?”
  • Jake nodded.
  • “It’s not easy for guys to understand, even though they learn about both human bodies. It goes for girls, too. You don’t have to learn about just one human body.”
  • I seemed to smile after his advice.
  • When we all arrived at the training room for the first class, we warmed up and stretched. We were then greeted by a man with a very wide smile and a very bushy beard.
  • I felt uncomfortable.
  • “Hello, everyone!” he said with cheer, “The name for me is Son Sungdeug! And I will be your personal dance teacher!”
  • I froze. Jake was concerned about my reaction.
  • “I don’t think he will be that bad. I’m sure we are going to learn a lot from him.”
  • Still, I frowned.

  • We met back in the main hall, where the entrance to I-LAND was. It felt ominous, because I already thought of it as a place to get eliminated and other things.
  • Maybe they are going to eliminate some of us already, I thought.
  • “The very first test is the Signal Test,” announced the Voice of I-LAND, “The only people within the numbers 16-20 will only go once. The rest may go again.”
  • But what does he mean?
  • “Are we going to sing already?” I asked.
  • “Supposedly,” said Jake, “I think we are going to sing the theme song.”
  • We had a theme song?
  • I felt strange. First, the capacity was 20 and not at 12 (in usual K-Pop survival shows), they provided sanitary pads and equipment, but they didn’t provide any other rooms for the rest of us.
  • Something suspicious is happening…but what could it be?
  • “I think they are going to be other girls here!” I said to myself, “If I bring the rest of Galway Londoners, then maybe we will form a group apart from the boys.”
  • “You have seven days to prepare for this test! You may begin. And you can change your part at any time before Test Day.”
  • For some reason, I felt pretty confident about the first test. Not only was it something different from all of the other agencies, but it felt more like in my interest than what other idols go through. This place made it more fun that way. But it is also a chance to survive. And teamwork. But I was going to work on that.

  • It was time for bed. Again. However, I was cozied up with determination. I laid flat on my back. But Jake cuddled right beside me.
  • “You seem excited,” he said, “But these things are scary sometimes. Are you scared?”
  • “Very,” I replied, “However, I am well determined to do great while in I-LAND.”
  • Before bed, a boy named Lee Heeseung said, “Guys, I just thought of something!”
  • “Heeseung said he thought of something.” Jake interpreted.
  • “We will practise the main choreography and then come back to arrange the parts.”
  • Everyone agreed.
  • “He said that we’ll learn the choreography before we learn the singing.”
  • I nodded.
  • Personally, I want to learn the song first, then to learn the dance and other things. Although, things do run differently here than expected.
  • While everyone was sleeping, I grabbed my phone, and ran to the living room. I dialed Holly’s number.
  • After a few rings, she picked up.
  • “Y/N? What are you doing up, you should be fast asleep. Can’t miss a big day of training.”
  • “Uh…Holzie, there is something that I might have to tell you…trust me, it’s very important…you see…”

  • The next morning, I heard a soft voice coming from the living room. I knew that it was the girls from the other agency.
  • I sprang out of bed and went to greet them.
  • “What are you guys doing here?” I asked in quite a surprise.
  • “We had to come and see you,” said Hinata, “We missed you so much and you’ve been gone for quite a while.”
  • “I’m sorry if I have been gone for that long. I really want to become an idol. And if that is what I want, then I’ll work hard to get there.”
  • “Then we will do it with you!” said Jax, “Our dream was to become a group and sub-unit. To make it come true, we have to get together at all times.”
  • “I agree,” Livia said, “How about it, Y/N?”
  • I thought about it for a moment. I was afraid that the girls were right about this. Even if it was our dream to become idols/celebrities, we had to come together as a team and work together to grasp this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
  • I had no other choice…I had to nod my head.
  • I hugged my sub-unit members.
  • Y/N: So how did you guys get here anyway?
  • Hinata: Holly sent us the address to get here.
  • Livia: Yeah, the entrance to access here was so cool! I thought I was going to cry!
  • Jax: So did I! The moment the floor was moving, I knew we were going to end up here…

  • CHAPTER EPILOGUE: THE FIRST TEST
  • The first test is about learning the signal song, “Into the I-LAND”, produced by BigHit’s Bang Si-Hyuk. But however, Y/N’s group does not know that they need a lot of help from the boys. There are some girls that are older than them.
  • The song “Into the I-LAND” has parts that are enough for at least 12 of the boys, as the girls will be the backup dancers. But we know Y/N will figure out what to do with the girls.
  • Little do they know that they will be the most famous in I-LAND as well as some of the other boys that had auditioned for this project.
  • Will they succeed or not? We might know in the next episode!
