I am back in Ireland.
Twenty years old, and already in my third year of my college life. I’m only taking a break because I wanted to study what I want to study. Of course I want to sing and dance for the rest of my life. But I have to do something productive first. Then I can get out there.
It’s while I’m going through my old stuff from I-LAND and my debut days when I get a call on my phone. I look at the caller ID: JAKE.
I answer.
“Hello?”
At first, the recipient doesn’t answer. But it seems as though he is munching on something.
“Hello?” says Jake.
“Jake,” I respond, “What are you snacking on? And also…what’s on the menu today, where you’re at.”
“Oh…I’m just having a traditional Irish breakfast… and am also on my way to see you!”
“Really? Jake…you shouldn’t have.”
“I am, I’m not joking! It’s been at least three years since I last saw you. You said you wanted to go study in your home country. And you mentioned some great things about it. So, I thought: ‘Well, maybe I should give it a shot!’ And here I am!”
“Aww, Jake…I love you!”
“Love you too, darling.”
A little while later, I was meeting up with my girl groups to figure out our next big project. Our next big hit for our career. As the leader, and one of the youngests, I couldn’t be more than happy.
When we took a break, I looked at the exact photo when we won the Melon Music Awards. It was the first time we ever won something for once. But even just looking at it and looking back on the time it was made, I felt tears streaming down my cheeks. And I was smiling the entire time.
Holly, my best friend from my main group, threw arms around my neck from behind me.
“Bit emotional, eh?” she said.
“Yeah,” I said, wiping away my tears. My lump was gone, but still.
“I know how that feels,” said Holly, “But…look on the bright side. You formed a pack when we first became trainees. Taeyeon once said that being a girl group takes a lot of effort, fun, and, most importantly–”
“Teamwork.”
“Exactly.”
To this day, I am a successful cover artist and am still making covers from our favorite songs and making up dance videos to help those that inspire to learn how to dance if they are aspiring idol trainees like how I was.
But…if you are still wondering what Jake whispered to me the moment we got back together. I guess I’ll tell you about it now. He said to me that no matter what happens, no matter where I go, or where I’m at…he would always stay by my side.
I hope you all enjoyed my story as well as you all enjoyed taking the time to read it. And I hope to share an update when I can very soon. It has been great meeting you all. Until the next adventures.
