Book one: The Misfortunate One
  • “It’s the truth, all of us wear memory sphere’s in case there are problems that arise.” He stated before he took out a dark blue sphere. “This was Bram-the male she killed, last’s memory sphere before his death.”
  • Zavier then activated it in his palm before the other angel’s saw that Bram was watching Zavier talk with Richard as he heard the sound of wings flapping until he saw Emilia. Instead of speaking up he pushed his eldest brother out of the way as his eyes went white as the last thing he saw was the cynical look on Emilia’s face as she killed him. Rosso knew that Emilia was prone to fighting people that had started confrontations with her-but it was easy to see that innocent blood was spilled that day.
  • Emilia’s eyes widened as she saw that instantly all of her siblings went against her placing either their bow or sword to her. “How dare you! This is treason!”
  • “You killed an innocent Emi! You know father and mother would scold you for that! Demon or not! He did nothing to you to deserve such a death!” Esta hissed out coldly
  • “The child that is in the demon lord’s arm-is it yours?” Rosso asked
  • “No...I never wanted that thing!” Emilia said shaking her head “I was raped by that man!”
  • Zavier scoffed. “No you weren’t, I did no such thing.”
  • “Yes you did!”
  • Zavier then took out a dark green sphere. “This is one of mine, I can show you all what has come to pass for this child to be here.”
  • “Please do, we need to know the truth and we cannot trust our hot headed sister.” Melo said nodding his head
  • He activated it and with it, the four of them saw that Emilia came into the room as he was mending his wounds. When she saw him, she instantly kissed him and forced herself upon him. Whenever he tried to get a word out she would shush him by placing her lips against his until she lied unconscious on the bed that was in the room.
  • “See I did no such thing to her. Though it could be debated if she had done so to me.”
  • Rosso rubbed between his eyes with his freehand before sighing out. “This is a * storm...and Emilia is supposed to be the eldest here? So here’s what we’re going to do...If it’s alright with you I’d like to take care of this as per-Angelic rules.” Rosso stated to Zavier
  • “That’s fine with me.” Zavier said with a nod of his head.
  • “Cool, Emilia Estella, if you do not take responsibility for your child I will have no other choice but to kill you where you stand with the others here. With that you will forfeit your title as queen and commander.”
  • Emilia narrowed her eyes glaring at Rosso. “You wouldn’t DARE kill me Rosso!”
  • Rosso placed his blade up to her neck. “You’ve already crossed two lines, wish to make it three?”
  • Emilia looked to her youngest sister Malia. “Please...don’t let him do this! Zavier tricked me! I was raped just as you had been when you birthed your first son!”
  • Malia growled and pulled her bow back hastily. “Don’t joke around Emilia! We all saw what happened! You are the one at fault here, not him! You make me beyond sick! You aren’t anything like me!” She hissed out coldly
  • She then looked to Melo. “Melo?”
  • “Save your breath *, you did this to yourself! Be honest with yourself!” Melo said as he pulled his bow back as well.
  • Emilia began to tear up as she felt betrayed by her own siblings. “T-This isn’t fair! I never wanted to be around a demonic male like him...he put me up to it! He had to! When I saw him ,he didn’t look like himself! He looked like my departed husband!”
  • “The place that you were in was my realm-the realm of illusion and fear. It’s a toss of a coin on what you get. Just it wears off when you meet face to face with me." Zavier said with a sigh
  • Emilia looked at Zavier shocked. "You tricked me! You had to have! There's no way in hell I'd ever be able to see him again like that!"
  • "How would I ever know what your beloved husband looked like? I never met him-I can only do illusions of things I've seen personally." Zavier said shaking his head
  • "Y-You have to be lying! I never wanted that kid! I never wanted to birth anything with the likes of you!" She hissed out coldly
  • "Then what will you do with your child? You obviously are up in arms about it." Zavier stated
  • "It's your child too!" She repeated "you take care of it!"
  • Zavier sighed out before he looked at the four angels that were threatening Emilia. "Let her live, if she doesn't wish to be part of the life of her daughter-then so be it. I will raise her and when the time is right my daughter will do what it takes to take you down and do what is right."
  • Emilia's eyes widened in shock. "You will not kill that thing while it's still a baby?!"
  • Zavier held the infant close to his chest. "The child has done nothing wrong, you have no right to shed the blood of an innocent child! I will name her Reyna, Reyna will be brought up and live the life of a demoness. She will be taught that your kind is the root of all evil. She will know what has come to pass and all she needs to know to overthrow you and your beloved kingdom. With the blood of an angel and demon she will be the perfect tool to do just so. I hope you realize what you've done, Emilia Estella, you are in fact the queen of Ignorance and denial. In years time you will see your daughter again-I hope you are ready for the anguish that will come your way."
  • With that Zavier left with the baby, he showed the child to his siblings that were still alive and they all made the same conclusion to raise any of their children to hate the angel's after realizing what had happened to Zavier almost a year ago. Zavier not only took care of his daughter Luma, but Reyna as well. Luma felt very curious about her younger sister and helped her dear beloved father all that she could until one day when Reyna was just a mere child of two years old, she had it with how her father would pay attention to Reyna instead of her. So when she knew her father had slept, she took off with her baby sister-Sending her to a different part of the kingdom.
  • A part of the kingdom where dragons only lived, the two that found Reyna in a basket were the king and queen of Acid Dragons. Knowing that it was cruel to let a child be all alone they took the young princess in-For years the king and queen took care of the young princess after realizing who she was. She was the missing princess their dear friend was looking for, but knowing that the jealousy of his eldest daughter was the reason they had the young princess, they helped the young princess become tougher. More Dragon-like so she could fight her sister on better terms.
  • In years time Reyna could walk, talk and move rather gracefully at the age of seven. The clothes she wore were made out of old dragon scales and the weapons she had been given were made out of the same of different types of dragons. By the time she was ten years old she had met up with the true children of the king and queen of the dragons. Shadow, Ruby, Nala, Toro, Axe and Melody were their names. Nala and Toro were the youngest two and were the two that Reyna had gotten along with the best. She had also grown up with an ice dragon with green eyes-she thought the ice dragon was really cool and became really good friends with it until she found out the dragon was a female and had named itself Shyla. Shyla was rather anti-social and didn't like being around the other dragons. Especially Shadow who wouldn't stop sniffing her and getting close to her. When Reyna turned Fourteen she flew on Nala's back and went back to the castle, she knew of her father who she had seen from time to time alone with the dragons.
  • She knew her father loved her, and that he agreed to have her be with the dragons until she was ready to clash swords with her sister. When Reyna saw her elder sister riding on her own dragon Reyna tapped Nala letting her know that she was going to jump off of her and to catch her if she fell. Nala said nothing as she watched her friend and companion. Reyna steadied herself on the back of Nala's back before tackling her elder sister down off of the dragon she was on. When Luma saw that she had been knocked off by her younger sister she was *ed she hoped her sister would have died already. She got her wings out and forced her younger sister down to the ground which didn't work as Reyna had pulled her own wings out and grabbed a hold of her sister's foot throwing her into the nearest building making Luma scream out in pain as she dropped her sword. "You brat!"
  • "What are you gonna do, insult me? I'm stronger than you, just leave it to that sister." She hissed out coldly
  • "Never!" She yelled angered as she grabbed her sword before going straight for Reyna
  • Reyna rushed for her sister as she held her own sword only for a male with dark brown hair and golden eyes went between them as he placed his hands out stopping both of them. "Who the hell are you?!" Reyna hissed out coldly
  • "The name's Zane Banti...I'm the commander of the Militia troops, and the fiance of Luma Militia" The male stated as he looked straight at her
  • "Zane get the * out of the way! She needs to die!"
  • "No she doesn't, you're pregnant. You must rest Luma."
  • Reyna raised an eyebrow at Zane as she saw how he had spoken to her elder sister. Luma growled and pushed Zane out of the way. “This is between us! Not you!”
  • “As the elder you must show that you can rise above this Luma.” Zane said seriously
  • “This is between my sister and I! Get lost!” Luma stated before she went straight for Reyna.
  • Reyna saw what her sister would do before she could do it and moved out of the way, making her elder sister go straight into another building. Reyna then scoffed. “Pathetic.” She stated before looking at Zane. “I wish to meet my father in the Castle of Militia, may you please take me there?”
  • Zane was surprised by the gentle tone Reyna gave him and nodded his head. “Of course..May I ask...who are you?”
  • “My name is Princess Reyna Militia, the daughter of Lord Zavier Militia.” She said sincerely
  • Zane’s eyes widened. “You’re his child?! No wonder Luma is fighting you...Very well. Come with me Princess, I will deal with my betrothed...later.” He stated before he flew off waiting for the young demoness to follow him.
  • She blew the whistle she had gotten and Nala swooped under her. Reyna held onto the young dragoness before she followed Zane to a rather large castle that was in the middle of the kingdom that looked to be made out of dark bricks that looked ebony black. When they got to the castle's iron fifteen feet gates Zane went down onto his feet as did Nala before she knelt down for Reyna to get down. Once she was off of her, Nala walked beside Reyna as the two of them went into the castle behind Zane. All of the guards and maids looked at Reyna strangely unsure of what was going on and watched her moves rather carefully.
  • When Zane took her to the throne room Zavier’s eyes lit up seeing Reyna. “Little Rey! I’m happy that you’ve made your way back home!” He said before he went up to her hugging her, spinning her in his arms.
  • She giggled and hugged her father back. “It’s good to be home father!” She said happily
  • Zane was surprised to see the instant connection between the two and cleared his throat before he spoke. “So...she is in fact your daughter...My lord?” Zane asked curiously
  • “Oh...that’s right you weren’t around at the time.” Zavier stated. “This is my beloved daughter Reyna Estella Militia. She was to grow up here, but due to the envious feelings of her elder sister she has lived with the dragons who had raised her. On occasions I would watch over her from where they lived and I got to see her grow up to be the amazing woman she is now. I was just curious when I’d see her take flight and leave the place she had called home to seek Luma and I out.”
  • Zane pondered a bit before he looked to Reyna then to Zavier. “My Lord...Reyna is much different than Luma...are you aware of this?”
  • “With her speech and her attitude? Yes I’m well aware of this. Luma grew up spoiled due to her deceased mother-while Reyna lived her life to be humble with the dragons.” Zavier stated
  • “And...you’re okay with this? I caught Luma and her fighting in the city.” Zane stated
  • “That will happen, Reyna knows why she lived there and not here with her cousins and sister. I told her when the time was right she had all rights to kill her elder sister, her elder sister took much from her. It was due to Luma that her life was so different, if it was up to me I would have made Luma be the one there, not Reyna. But Reyna is a better woman due to what Luma had done. Whether or not Reyna is a child or not doesn’t excuse the fact that her life had been changed due to Luma’s ignorance. It is why Luma is going to be married to you, you are to keep Luma in line Commander Zane.” Zavier stated
  • Zane shook his head. “I cannot contain that woman, she is too much for me. Plus I do believe that she doesn't love me.”
  • “Of course I don’t love you, you’re too strict and give off this know it all attitude which I hate. You cannot know more than a princess of Militia!” Luma screeched out angered “and why did you take that thing here!? She shouldn’t be welcomed here!”
  • “Don’t be rude to me just because I can out do you sister.” Reyna said calmly
  • Luma’s golden eyes glared straight into Reyna’s green eyes. “You’re a disgrace to demons! You shouldn’t be allowed to live here.”
  • As the two of them were arguing their cousins all gathered hearing the loud screeching of Luma, which got them curious. When they saw Reyna all of them looked at Reyna confused, that was until Reyna spoke up once more.
  • “The one who is a disgrace is you, I did not want to live with the dragons. But since I had, father had a better time bonding with me than he had with you-he told me so. You may be the eldest, but at least I know I am loved and cared for by father. Father doesn’t see you as his daughter-he sees you as a toxic woman that’ll soon get themselves killed. He isn’t investing much in you and I can see why. Short temper, quickly envious over nothing, not to mention you aren’t acting like a princess should act. Whether you are pregnant or not, you should never lose your temper.” Reyna stated calmly
  • Luma flew down and went in front of Reyna with her sword pointing straight at her throat. Reyna stayed put calmly looking at her elder sister with cold eyes. “If you kill me now you won’t be any better than an angel.”
  • Luma’s eyes turned dark with anger. “WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME YOU PIECE OF *!?” She yelled
  • “You are not daft, I know you heard what I said or has father not tell you what happened with Uncle Bram-and why I am even around to begin with. It’s all because of an angel...an angelic female who you are starting to remind me of very clearly.”
  • “Dearest niece...you may wish to bite your tongue or you will be killed” Darius stated sincerely
  • “Uncle I assure you I can take care of myself, I did not train with dragons for the last few years for nothing. I’m now fourteen years old, I can take good care of myself.” Reyna said with her eyes shut before she opened her eyes as she grabbed Luma’s sword with her left hand and broke it with one hand making it shatter into pieces.
  • Luma was shocked to see that the young female was able to break a strong made sword like she had with ease. “H-How...How did you manage that?!”
  • “I have the blood of father in me, plus being around dragons has made me stronger than the average demon. Now tell me again who’s the piece of garbage dearest elder sister?” Reyna asked curiously
  • Luma was in utter shock as she really had no idea what she had just done to her younger sister. Luma looked for her dagger only to see that Reyna was chuckling. She looked at her sister once more to see that Reyna was twirling it in her fingers gracefully. “Looking for this?”
  • “How did you manage to get that from me?!”
  • “When we fought earlier, you were so distracted it was fairly easy to get it from you.” Reyna said amused “Did you want it back?”
  • “Yes I want it back. It belonged to my mother, it’s the last thing that I have of her.” Luma said with a nod of her head
  • Reyna smirked and she held it between two of her fingers before she threw it into her sister's chest where her heart was. Luma was shocked and fell back a bit before trying to pull the dagger out of her chest as she was on her knees. Reyna slid her sword out of her sheath only to quickly slice off her sister's head. It was soon after that all that was left was dust and the dagger on the ground. Reyna got the dagger from the ground as she cleaned it off with her boot, she then looked to her father and bowed her head. “What you told me to do is now done father.”
  • He clapped his hands rather impressively before he motioned for her to come closer to him. She did without a word, when she got closer to her father he got up once more and placed his hands on her upper arms. “You did very well Reyna, you are going to be an excellent queen one day. I assure you that much. While you are here, allow me to introduce you properly to your cousins.” Zavier stated as he waved the children into the throne room.
  • All of them silently came into the room and Reyna turned to meet the small lot of people. Two females and five males, all with the same black hair trait that was known for demons to have. Reyna felt out of place but said nothing as she was introduced to her cousins, Ricardo, Marshall, Bane, Joel, Damen, Stella and Leah. It seemed like Leah and Silvia were the youngest two of the group while Ricardo and Marshall were the elder two. She was the same age as Damen and Bane but the elder of the trio. Ricardo was the first to talk of the lot of them.
  • “Little Reyna, what we saw happen was the most awesomest thing out there! I really wanted to root for you when you killed that * Luma. She was the eldest and a real *y female to say the least-even when she wasn’t pregnant.”
  • Reyna sheepishly smiled at the male. “T-Thank you...I think…”
  • “It’s a compliment, I assure.” Ricardo said as he pulled her into him and hugged her tightly
  • She hugged him back and smiled at him. “I’m glad I’m accepted-I was afraid none of you would want me here.”
  • “The only one who wouldn’t have would be the brat you killed. The rest of us really wanted to see you.” Joel stated speaking up “Though I gotta ask, which dragons were you raised by?”
  • “The acid dragons.” Reyna stated
  • “That explains your attire and the sword you have.” Joel said with a sigh “I thought that sword was odd. It’s made out of dragon scales, yeah?”
  • She nodded her head “Everything I have is made out of dragon scales.”
  • Leah went up to her and smiled at her. “I think you look pretty in your dress, though it has some weak spots that can make that fall apart.”
  • Reyna nodded her head in agreement. "Yeah I know it does. It's not for everyday wear-this dress is solely for the sake of battle."
  • Zane couldn't believe what was going on and spoke up. "My Lord, are you really allowing the death of your eldest? She was a pure demon-not an interbreed like your youngest is."
  • "I realize that you may have fallen in love with my eldest, but she wasn't going to live once it came time for Reyna to come back home. I had warned you not to get too attached to her...did I not?"
  • Zane was rather speechless as he looked down. "I had loved her My Lord, wasn't there any other way to go about dealing with what she had done to the princess?"
  • "No, as per law-the two of them had to fight it out. Anything goes-and Luma trusts too easily and doesn't word herself enough to be able to stay alive. She could have said her words differently and acted differently as well, but she hadn't, which was her downfall." Zavier stated seriously
  • Zane frowned. "Without her around-what am I going to be doing now?"
  • "You still have your duty as commander, you have a duty to your troops to make sure they are ready for the * storm that will happen when Reyna is old enough to leave Militia and meet her mother. Plus now you have the task of protecting my young daughter Reyna until she is fully prepared to take on her mother in one on one combat." Zavier stated
  • Reyna looked at her father curiously. "You want me to meet the thing that created me?"
  • "Yes, you must show that woman what she had passed up. What better way to do that than to give her a taste of her own medication. I assure you that it will be for the better. Speaking of which..." Zavier said before he cut his hand and placed his hand on the dark lily mark on his arm. "It's time for you to meet an ally of our people, the wraiths. The man you are about to see is the lord of wraith's, they are dark winged angels that have gone beyond the fallen state, who have taken up the lower part of the large kingdom we now live in. His kind has been cursed to never touch the angelic blood ever again after he had mated with one of them. Hopefully he will see the demon in you and give you the approval you deserve."
  • Reyna nodded her head and Zavier took his hand off of his arm creating the portal which then Reyna walked in with her head held high and her weapons all in their places. When Reyna stepped foot onto the dark sand, she looked around and saw that over the entire area she was in, it was closed off from the rest of the world by what looked like a protection shell of some sort. As she looked around she felt a shiver go through her spine as if someone or thing was watching her. Looking down under her she noticed that what was under her boots wasn’t the solid ground she was used to but black mushy sand. It didn’t freak her out, instead it interested her to find out more about the land that belonged to the ally of her father and uncles. She walked around until she met up with a slightly taller male with dark purple eyes and raven hair that went over his left eye.
  • “Who are you and what business do you have here...angle.” The male hissed out coldly “You have some nerves using the demons to come here to get past the alarm system.”
  • Reyna was rather unamused that she was being called by her mother’s blood, instead of answering him by words she expressed it with actions. She stepped a few steps back before she allowed her demon blood to take control of her. Her pale skin turned a dark blue color as two horns that slightly curved on the top of her head while her black wings spanned out past her arms length. In the place of her dragon armor was a dark ebony color sleeveless shirt that showed her bare torso as well as a pair of shorts that went mid thigh as her boots changed to be talon claws. The male’s eyes widened in utter shock as he saw the transformation before him, he was told to keep an eye out for a female who would smell like an angel but would be an ally in disguise but he had no luck thus far. He hadn't thought that some puny girl was their ‘ally’, it mentally messed him up as he looked at her.
  • “What’s your name?”
  • “Tch, you must be ignorant if you don’t know who I am. Allow me to see the lord of this place and you’ll see for yourself then.” Reyna said seriously
  • The male shook his head. “I cannot do that. Give me your name and maybe I’ll let you see him.”
  • Reyna grabbed her sister’s dagger and placed it quickly at the males throat. “I don’t wish to make enemies here, but I will spill blood if I do not see him.”
  • “That is enough Princess Reyna.” A dark mature male voice said from behind her.
  • She took the dagger from the younger male’s throat and placed it back as she transformed back to her ‘normal’ self. She then bowed to the male. “I apologize, I only wished to see you.”
  • “It’s quite alright, my son doesn’t know of you and it’s only natural he becomes hostile about his home.” The elder male started patting the top of her head softly. “Rise.”
  • She did as she was told with a smile. “Father sent me here, he said it was time.”
  • “Is it now? You finally earned your place I see. How time flies outside of this place.” The male stated before he looked at his son. “This is the woman I spoke of. Do not speak ill to her.”
  • The younger male nodded his head sulking a bit with his arms crossed, the three of them then made their way to the kingdom beyond a thick purple haze. The elder male kept an eye on Reyna to make sure she’d be able to keep consciousness only to see that she was a trooper that didn’t let pain get to her. The lord’s son spoke to Reyna confused about what was going on with her.
  • “How is it that you smell of angels but have the powers of a demon?”
  • “My father is Lord Zavier Militia, my ungrateful sick mother is Queen Emilia Estella. My mother raped my father in his own domain-then proceeded to disown me when I was a mere day old without even giving me a chance to live in the heavens with her. I learned from my father what to do and how to lessen the sinful stench of being an angel. It’ll take time but I am more demon than Angel that I chose on my own.” Reyna said seriously. “By the way I never caught your name, who are you?”
