“Jacey is my dragon my lady..as for the other, her name is Mina, she is your sister's dragon. Those two are rather close friends and moody. So far warned with that.” Syton said with a sigh
“May I ask what type of dragons are here before I look at them?” Reyna asked
Syton’s blue eyes lit up before he smiled at her. “Of course! There are five different types here. Crystal, Metal, Water, Smoke and Sound. Your sister's dragon is a sound dragon. As your mother-the queen’s dragon is a crystal dragon.”
Reyna tilted her head to the side. “Huh...well then. Okay. Where are we starting first?”
“Your mother wished for me to go left to right with the dens. So we will be starting with the crystal ones first my lady.”
She nodded her head and walked with him but didn’t say anything, since didn’t know what else to say to him. As they got to the dragons she didn’t feel the pull she knew she felt with Nala so she shook her head, so they went to the next part of the den where the mental dragons were. Still she didn’t feel anything, so they went to the next den, the sound dragons-Still nothing. So they went to the water dragons-nothing there. By that time Kolby came by to see if Reyna had ‘found her dragon’ yet.
As he came up to them they had gotten to the smoke dragons. “So, has the outcast found her dragon yet?” He taunted
Reyna looked at one dragon in particular and grinned as she went up to the dragon. “Good day.”
“Good day m’lady, your scent is familiar. What is your name?”
“Princess Reyna.”
“Reyna...such a beautiful name for a beautiful young lady. My name is Hyun Satano.” The dragon said as he placed his claw out to her.
She happily took the dragons claw before the claw slowly turned to a human who had dark skin short white hair with red eyes. The male knelt down onto one knee. “I am here to serve you m’lady Reyna. Just call for me and I will be at your side in no time at all.”
Reyna smiled at the male and nodded her head. “Thank you for that Hyun, you are quite the gentleman, and I applaud that of you. I want you to be aware that I am half angelic, half demonic. Both of royal blood. Due to my demonic blood I do have a demonic dragon waiting for me within the kingdom of Militia by the name of Nala. If chance you meet up with Nala, you will be questioned and she will become protective of me.”
“You are here in an environment that she cannot withstand, until you are in a middle ground you have no worries as do I. Shall we see just how well we do together my lady?”
She nodded her head happily. “I’d love that Hyun!” She said happily
Kolby couldn’t believe that she actually bonded with a dragon, it peeved him but made the guard smug as he crossed his arms. “Be careful princess. Smoke dragons are known for being the quickest in the angelic lands.”
“Oh I’m used to that, in Militia my acid dragon Nala is a speedy one. We would have all sorts of fun in the sky together while I was growing up.” Reyna said before she left out with Hyun
He changed back into his dragon form before she went onto his back. He then took off from the ground as he went full speed to see if she could handle him. She stayed on him with grace as she laughed happily as she went from holding on to him to having her hands out above her. Hyun was more than happy to see just how she was able to keep herself on him. No one had ever been able to hold onto him that good before.
Once he landed on the ground Reyna hugged him tightly. “You are a good dragon Hyun, thank you for that.”
“Of course my lady.”
“Just call me Rey alright?”
“Alright...if you say so, Rey. Will you be taking the trial that all angels do Rey?” He asked
“Mhm, it is why I came here. Mother told me I had to do this first.”
“With reason, part of it is showing proof that you have a tie to the creations of the god and goddess who were made of the angelic race and their dragon partner.” Hyun said with a nod of his head
For the next few days, Reyna was training rather hard to be able to know what she’ll be getting herself into. Her mother and sister showed her most of what she needed to know and she had some guidance from her uncle Rosso who was more than happy to be able to give the knowledge that he had to his niece. When they all knew she was ready she was given a special outfit to be able to go through with the trial that was ahead of her.
Once she had the outfit on she met up with her entire angelic family as well as the angelic military-which included Kolby who wasn’t amused or thought she could go through the trial successfully. She was taken up to where the trial was by Hyun who was more than happy to go through with it with her. Once they got to the middle of a large mountain there was an entrance they went through once he turned into his human form. He stood a few feet behind her as they walked through the cave together.
Reyna used the magic she knew to give them light as they walked through the cavern. Once they had been in the cave for a short period of time they came across a light version of what she knew was a wraith. Hyun growled at what was in front of them, but Reyna kept calm as she used her demonic wings-since she still couldn’t get her angelic wings to come out and she went in front of the wraith with a smile. “It’s okay, I am not here to harm you. I can see the pain in your eyes, the agony you’ve gone through. I know that as wraiths become more in pain they lose their dark color and become lighter. I can heal you if that is what you wish.”
The wraith placed its hand out which made Reyna smile, she sat upon the hand of the wraith as she placed her hands on the palm of the wraith before she muttered a chant and slowly the wraith began to get it’s dark color back before slowly turning back to it’s normal self once more. The wraith was a male who looked to be older than the male she knew as the king of wraiths.
“Thank you young dearest. My name is Marcus Sparkfreed, I was once known as the lord of the wraiths. I am in your debt.”
“No sir, there is no need for you to say that I’m more than happy to have been able to help the kin that have brought me up. I can make sure you make it home if you so please too.”
He nodded his head and she slipped up part of her armor to take the male back to Oakheart, where she knew there would be a heartwarming reunion waiting for him. Once the wraith was gone Hyun looked at her confused. “Why do you help such filth?”
Reyna narrowed her green eyes at Hyun. “Bite your tongue!” She hissed out coldly
He looked at her taken back. “P-Princess?”
“You have no idea what you’re talking about. Keep your ignorance to yourself.” She said with a cold scoff before she went further on without another word.
Hyun didn’t understand what he said wrong, when he caught up to her-she wasn’t killing like other angels had in the past. She was a pacifist and she wasn’t shedding any type of blood, he wondered what type of angel was she? What type of life must she have gone through to not want to become a certified angelic person who spills blood like those before her? As they got to the middle of the trail they saw that they had to go from one side of the mountain to the other-but there was a big gap between the two.
Reyna then looked at him. “This is where you come in. Transform and help me to the other side please.”
He did what he was told without a word and took her to the other side rather quickly before transforming back and watching her go through the rest of the trial just the same. When she got to the end there was a male with two different stones in his hand as he looked at her.
“Evening princess, I’ve been waiting to see you. I am Andre-The god of darkness. I am pleased with what I’ve been seeing. How you have composed yourself to become, how you have not raised your blade once to the creatures of this world. It warms my dark heart to see such acts of pacifism. If my wife Ryse was alive and beside me she would be proud of you as well. I assure you that.”
Reyna smiled at him before she slipped her sword out and placed it in front of her blade down. “Goddess, please make yourself known.” She said calmly
The silver sword that Reyna had glowed before Ryse came out of the sword before her eyes widened seeing the man she loved in front of her. She teared up and went up to the dark haired male happily hugging him tightly as she could. The male hugged his wife back, holding the two stones in his hands still.
“My dearest wife, I am happy to see you well, how is that you are living within a weapon?”
“It was the price of making it.” Ryse said sadly
He then let her go before he looked at Reyna. “It seems that you had reason not to kill. In my hands are two different stones.” Andre said as he held his hands out once more.
In his left hand was a dark emerald stone and in his right hand was a dark sapphire stone.
“What are they for?” Reyna asked curiously
“They are the stones that will be merging with you to give you the wings of an angelic person. Unlike with the demonic race, angels must earn their wings. You have more than earned your wings dearie.” Ryse said happily with her hands together.
Andre nodded his head. “I will have to agree, now I must tell you that there are different types of angelic wings. There's a low, middle, high and high arc. It’s very rare that anyone ever gets High arc angelic wings. Each wing type is a different color.”
“Mhm! Low is white and silver, Middle is blue and white, high is white and pink and high arc is white pink and gold.”Ryse explained
“How will I know what type of wings I’ll be getting?” Reyna asked curiously
Ryse placed her hands together with a smile. “We’re the ones who decide that! I’ve been with you throughout your entire trial, I know what you’ve done and I know what type of person you can become as time goes on.” Ryse said before she took the green stone and went behind Reyna. “This will give you a bit of a tickle, Reyna.”
Reyna braced herself as she felt a sharp pain within her back, she gritted her teeth as she held her ground holding onto the hilt of the sword rather tightly. Andre was impressed she hadn’t shown any type of pain like angels usually did. He then went up to her and placed a hand on her shoulder.
“You have the will and grace of the angelic race, before it was tainted, for that we both bless you with the power you will need to become the best angelic person you can be. With your wings you will be able to fly to new heights beyond the demonic wings capacity. For we both see within you the child of prophet. With the prophet comes responsibility. Ryse and I firmly believe in the act of peace and you have shown that today in your trial. I formally bless you Reyna Estella, with the highest and rarest angelic wings of them all as well as my own blessing of being able to use the dark at will to you.” Andre said before he pushed the blue crystal within her chest.
She still showed no sign of pain as she held onto the hilt of the sword tightly. Reyna kept her eyes forward as she soon felt a light power within her. She then shut her eyes as she placed her wings out. Hyun’s eyes widened in awe and shock as he saw the wings that she had gotten. No one in centuries has ever been able to get the wings of a high arc before. Seeing them before his eyes was a stunning view.
Ryse and Andre both smiled as Ryse clapped her hands. “Very well done dear. You can interchange your wings now whenever you like.”
Reyna opened her eyes and smiled at Ryse, before she went onto one knee keeping her hands on her sword. “Thank you Goddess Ryse, Lord Andre-I will do both of you well and use my wings to do what I can to help this world heal and become at peace.”
“Good girl, now get up. Let’s show those beautiful wings off to your family! Hehehe! I can’t wait to see the look on their faces!” Ryse said happily before she went back into the sword after giving her lover a kiss on the lips.
Andre opened the exit for her and let her leave, she thanked him before she took a starting run before she leaped off of the mountain. Hyun rushed after her only to see that her angelic wings kept her from falling.
“Come now Hyun, we need to head back to the kingdom.” She said with a smile before she flew downwards.
“W-Wait for me princess!” He said before he changed into his dragon form and followed after her quickly.
When he finally caught up to her she was close to the kingdom so she jumped onto his back as she placed her wings back. “I’m surprised you didn’t tell me to kill anything.”
“It’s your trial not mine, I am just your partner in it all. I am only to do things with your consent that is all.” Hyun said with a sigh “Though I will say that I had no idea that being a pacifist would get someone the highest ranking wings. That was a hard ball to the gut for sure.”
“Not everything can be solved by violence, and only those with the right amount of knowledge would know how to properly solve all the issues that were within that place. Also...I have to ask this Hyun. Why don’t you like wraiths?”
“I’ve been taught that they are lying, scheming things that lurk in the dark, that they can’t be trusted and are only to be killed.”
“Well that is far from the truth. My beloved is a wraith, he’s the eldest of the next line of wraiths to be exact. He is a loving male who is just as much of a pacifist as I am. The wraiths aren’t all that bad, maybe one day you can meet him and see for yourself that they aren’t bad at all.”
Hyun hummed out. “I’d like that, if there’d be a time for something like that to happen. While you are here in Mirfield though, they are weak and cannot do much. It is why that wraith was so white he had been here for a very long time constantly being frozen and unfrozen for trials. What you did...might * people off.”
“Like I give a *? I don’t live to please the prissy stuck up angelics that don’t understand the ways of how Goddess Ryse had things. I want to make things right.”
“I’ll stand beside you all the way princess. I’ll protect you with my entire life.” Hyun said seriously
“Thank you Hyun.” She said sincerely before they reached the gates of the royal family.
Hyun knelt down so she could get off of him, once they were standing beside one another they were let into the castle grounds and they went inside only for two guards to take them into the throne room where Emilia, Astra and Kolby were all waiting. Kolby was at the side of the room while Emilia and Astra were sitting in their places. “Evening daughter, I see you’ve finished your trial.”
“I have.”
“Let me see your beautiful pink and white wings dear.” Emilia said happily
Hyun averted his eyes as he moved away from Reyna, Reyna smiled as she allowed her wings to show. Her wings were golden yellow on the top as there were pink and white wings in the middle. Emilia and Astra’s mouth’s drop as they saw the wings that Reyna had. To the side Kolby didn’t believe that someone who was a total outcast deserved such high ranking wings. He went up to Reyna and kicked her down to the floor by the middle of her back before he pulled at her wings making her scream out in pain.
“COMMANDER KOLBY GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF MY DAUGHTERS WINGS!” Emilia hollered as she got up from her throne.
Kolby stopped pulling at the wings but just glared at the queen. “How could you allow such a disgracefully outcast to take the trial and steal these types of wings?! No one, not even you have gotten something close to this! She must be punished for what she has done!”
Hyun turned into his dragon form as he launched himself at Kolby, clawing at the male placing him face first into the ground by his left claw. “LEAVE MY MISTRESS ALONE! HER WINGS WERE A BLESS GIVEN TO HER BY THE GOD ANDRE AND GODDESS RYSE! TO DEFILE HER WINGS IS TO DEFILE THE GODS WISHES!”
Hearing Hyun's words, Emilia sat down once more. “Daughter, can you move?”
Weakly Reyna got up before she placed her wings back. When Emilia saw she could move she sighed out. “Leave Mirfield. I cannot have one of my own to have higher wings than me.”
“Wow you are just like father. Prideful to the very end. To think that you’d be better than him. Guess I was wrong to think that.” Reyna said before she looked at Hyun. “Let’s go, we can go to Ryse’s temple and see what we can do from there.”
Hyun nodded his head and he bent down for her to go on to his back. She climbed up onto him before the two of them left through the roof of the castle. When they reached the temple of Ryse he turned into his human form and he caught Reyna in his arms before placing her down on the ground. Hyun followed Reyna in and placed her sword on the altar before she bent down onto one knee.
“Oh beloved Goddess Ryse, please show yourself.” Reyna prayed and Hyun followed in her lead.
Ryse showed up and she did not look amused. “Oh girl you better be telling me that you want to * the * out of that woman you call a mother.”
Reyna stood up and shook her head. “I don’t want to harm those who’ve done me wrong, I wish to know a place where I can be that will accept me as I am.” Reyna said sadly “I figured at some point in time that I’d be given those around me in my family envy. I don’t expect anything less from them. Their ego’s get the better of them.”
Ryse sighed out. “Girl...you really are too nice for your own good. But then again that’s what made you have the wings you have now. Alright, you want sanctuary love? Then you need to earn the trust of the elementals first. They work hand in hand with the angels. Like I’ve said before-those before you have failed to get the trust of the elementals. If you can have them trust you-you will have the power that no angelic has ever had in centuries. Which will be good for you dear.”
“Okay so how does one go about getting to the kingdom of elementals?” Reyna asked
“By foot you will tread for days, you will meet people who will help you along the way. I will be sure of that. When you feel a wave of warmth over you, that’s when you’ll know you’re in the kingdom of Tamworth where you’ll be first stopped by the god who had first made the elementals. Usually there is a code that you must say to get in. But you’re a special lovely one. Show him me, I’ll get you in.”
“Why do we have to go by foot instead of Hyun flying there?”
“There is a no-flying, for dragons anywhere near the kingdom of Tamworth, they are rather picky about that. No doubt due to their ruler hating seeing dragons in their true form.” Ryse said with a sigh
“Very well then. Looks like Hyun and I are going on a little adventure together.” Reyna said with a smile before she looked at Hyun. “Say goodbye to your family while you can, you’re not going to see them for a while.”
Hyun nodded his head. “Yes princess, you’ll be here yes?”
She nodded her head. “Of course, I won’t leave without you.”
Hyun bowed to the goddess before he left quickly, when he was gone Ryse sighed out. “Reyna..dear. I know you have yourself a soft spot for the wraith prince...but there’s something that I wanted to say days ago that I never did because it wasn’t your mothers business to know. But it is yours. Your two other marked partners, you've already met one of them already.”
Reyna blinked her eyes a few times. “Okay?”
“Hyun is one of your marked partners.” Ryse said with a sigh
Reyna stiffened hearing what Ryse said. “Oh...oh!”
Ryse averted her eyes. “Yeah, that’s why he’s so protective of you. The other one you will meet in the kingdom of Tamworth, he will be the runt of the water elementals and he will be the key to you having a better time in that place than those before you. From what I’ve gathered-angles aren’t all that welcomed there right now after your cousins Amber and Omar tried to kill those in the elemental kingdom. They weren’t given much of a punishment for it. You must show that you aren’t there to harm anyone.”
Reyna nodded her head. “I will do what I can to do that, I can ensure that no one will try to kill me?” Reyna asked
“You will have Hyun with you, he will be around you all the time. He’s going to be your meal ticket to staying alive there.” Ryse explained
“Very well, I will do what I can, Goddess, thank you for telling me this.”
“Of course, now I will take my leave.” Ryse said before she went back into the sword.
Reyna placed the sword back in it’s place before she waited for hyun. As she did she felt the mark of the wraiths burn her arm making her fall to her knees as she held her arm. “W-What the hell?!”
She bit her finger once more and placed it against the mark making the portal to go to the kingdom of Oakheart. She went in only to see that Avery was in the middle of a circle as his father and the male she had saved were chanting something.
“What are you two doing to Avery?!”
They stopped as they heard her pained voice, when they did Avery’s body went onto the ground, she went up to him and knelt down to him before she placed his head against her lap. “Ave...ave...c’mon Avery please wake up!”
“My son is going through a transformation that he may or may not live through. All male wraiths go through it. “Lou said seriously
Reyna looked at him with blood lust eyes. “HOW DARE YOU HARM YOUR SON WHEN HE’S BOUND TO ME!?DO YOU WISH TO KILL ME AS WELL?!” She shouted in anger
Lou had forgotten about the fact that his son was bound to the young princess. He sighed and shut his eyes. “The ritual is complete, I will call upon you if he wakes. For now you must take your leave.”
Reyna looked down at Avery before she pressed her forehead against his. “Please wake up my love...I can’t be without you.”She whispered softly before she kissed his forehead and left.
When she got back to Ryse’s temple she walked out of it as she saw Hyun making his way back with a large backpack on his back. “Ready to go!”
“Good, let’s get going. We have a big trail to go. I don’t want to wait for things to get worse here for either one of us.” Reyna said seriously as she looked up at the sky.
When she did she could see clearly the fact that there were five different glows of light coming from the southeast of where they were. She then looked to Hyun and motioned for him to follow her, which he did without a word. He could tell that something was wrong with her but he wasn’t going to say anything about it since he didn’t know what to say to her.
As they walked she kept a hand on her left upper arm, where he knew she had a mark that belonged to the wraiths. “Did something happen with the wraiths my lady?” Hyun asked
She nodded her head sadly. “The * I let live and the man that helped give birth to my beloved Avery did something to him and he’s unresponsive. Not only did I feel it through the marking that I have that shows that I have ties to the wraiths, but…” She said before she took her hand off of her left arm and she stripped herself of all of the armor since she didn’t truly need it. She threw it to the side not wanting the heavy weight on her anyways. She then held up the side of her shirt showing the marking she had on her waist.
His red eyes widened seeing the mark. “It looks familiar doesn’t it? Since I am linked to him emotionally I felt what he went through...I want him to survive but I don’t know if he will or not.” Reyna said sadly “If he doesn’t you and one other have a choice. Who the other is-is someone from the place we’re going to. I don’t know much other than some information that the goddess had told me about him.”
“Mark or not, I am your protector by the bond of angelic blood. I will always be at your side. If I am able to be at your side as more than a protector I will be most happy with it.” He said as he placed his hand on his chest as he spoke to her sincerely
Reyna gave him a weak smile. “Thank you for that. Come now let’s go. Don’t worry about the armor-I don’t need it. We are going there in peace without violent intent.”
