Book one: The Misfortunate One
  • She slipped the sword back into her sheath before she let her right talion scrape the males face as she slapped him hard. “For once take your own damn words to heart! What I went through and what you went through is completely different!” She hissed out angered before she stormed out of the café
  • She spread her wings out and she climbed up the side of the café before she flew off first with her demon wings before she quickly changed to her angelic wings as her skin turned back to its natural pale complexion. Reyna flew off rather far from the café, she stopped at a waterfall just to calm herself down. As she sat down behind it she instantly could smell flowers, she got up from where she sat and she began to look around only to find a small walkway that led to a meadow that was a large field of flowers, behind the meadow was a small lodging house that looked abandoned.
  • She went up to it and she knocked first before she entered it, as she looked around cautiously she realized she was alone inside of the house. So she shut the door and chose just to sit down with the sword on a couch that was by an unlit fireplace. She took the sword of Ryse out of its place as she sighed out. “Ryse, I don’t want to do this anymore.”
  • Ryse came out and she frowned at the young child. “I know you don’t, I know you’ve gone through problem after problem. You probably don’t think you have what it takes huh?”
  • “Yes, but no. How can I deal with all of this with so many people after me?” She said sadly
  • Ryse frowned at the young child before she hugged her. “I’m really sorry. This is on me. I shouldn’t have agreed with the others to make a race that was the complete opposite of the demons. If I didn’t agree you wouldn’t be dealing with so much conflict.”
  • “It’s not your fault…things happen cause they can. I just..I just want people to realize what they do has consequences.”
  • “That’s easier said than done sweetie. Let me tell you there’s going to be a lot of things in the future that’ll add up to you going through a lot of emotional stress and mental stress too.” Ryse said as she petted the back of Reyna’s head softly
  • Reyna shut her eyes as she sighed out. “I hate this, I know why I have to do this but it doesn’t mean that I enjoy having to clean up other people's messes.”
  • “I know sweetie, I know. Why don’t you rest? You’ll need it.”
  • Reyna leaned against Ryse and shut her eyes as she fell asleep soon afterwards, that time she didn’t see the gods in her sleep. She had a dream of memories of her past with Avery, that she held deeply within her heart and mind.
  • With the others, Ella and Nala were the first two to figure out that Reyna wasn’t in the cafe. Kayla came out with her food and was confused on why the red haired female wasn’t around. “Where’s the pretty lady?”
  • “That’s a good question, we don’t know where she is.” Ella said concerned
  • All of them finally realized that Reyna wasn’t in the diner and Richard wasn’t to be seen either. Kayla placed the food down before she placed her hands behind her back. “I think….I think dad and her had an argument. Dad is in a bad mood right now and is being foul to just about everyone in the back.”
  • “Do you have an idea what the argument could be about Kayla?” Hyun asked
  • Kayla shook her head no, she had no idea. She didn’t like seeing her father in such a bad mood, but at the same time she knew it would come to him sooner or later. All of the males became rather concerned about her, Especially since they knew that people were after Reyna because of who she was. They all knew they’d have to go and find her.
  • Nala and Hyun both went into their dragon forms as they split up looking for Reyna with people on their backs. Nala had Avery and Zeph while Hyun had Ella. Hyun didn’t like that Reyna had gone off like she had and was worried sick about the young female. He kept his eyes and nose peeled for anything that could help him find Reyna, which didn’t take long as her scent was smelled by a waterfall.
  • “Hold on Ella.”
  • She did rather tightly as he went past the waterfall. As he did so he saw a male who looked just like Reyna’s father going towards the hut where her scent was strong. Hyun turned human and whispered to Ella what he knew, Ella kept her hand on her sword as they watched the male go into the hut. With Reyna she had woken up to the smell of food, she jumped and became alert only to see a male who looked just like her father.
  • “Y-You’re…You’re just like my father…” She muttered to herself
  • “Ah, Reyna, you’re awake. I was wondering what would take you to wake up. I’ve been waiting for you granddaughter.”
  • Reyna looked at the raven haired male stunned as she had felt frozen where she sat. “W-Who are you and why do you call me your granddaughter for?”
  • The male sighed out as he looked at Reyna sadly. “I knew you never knew about me, but this…this is just upsetting. I’m your grandfather. Well your demonic grandfather. I’m the one who placed your father Zavier in charge of Militia.”
  • Reyna was rather quick to grab Ryse’s sword and glared at him. “I was told my grandfather died, that’s a lie! Who are you!?”
  • “I am telling you the truth Reyna, please calm down.”
  • She narrowed her eyes at him. “I don’t trust you even if you do know my name! I have no reason to believe or trust a word you say to me.”
  • The elder male got a crystal ball from his bag before he showed her a projection of the throne room where Zavier and Luma were both rather *ed off.
  • “How dare that * let those *s do that to me! I am the lord of this land; she has no right to deny me!”
  • “Father, she's been so mean to me! I want Avery! She doesn’t need three males.”
  • Reyna’s eyes widened. “H-How…How are you able to see into the throne room in Militia?”
  • The elder male sighed out. “Before I had left out I placed magical eyes everywhere within that castle. I wanted to keep an eye on your father and his siblings. So I did this to make sure they’d be doing things right-as of late your father hasn’t been doing as I’ve taught him.”
  • “So…you know about me because of the magic that is in the castle?”
  • The male nodded his head. “That is correct.”
  • Reyna placed her sword down and sat by the elder male as he gave her the magic crystal as she continued to listen to what was being said through the projection.
  • “You are the lord of THIS land, not of any other. If you go from the boundaries of our home your title means nothing.” Lucian said seriously
  • “Anyways, your youngest daughter has her life ahead of her, she doesn’t need drama from her low life father.” Andrea said seriously with her arms crossed. “Had you treated her with respect and with the same courtesy you give Luma, you wouldn’t be dealing with her as she is now.”
  • “Nonsense! It doesn’t matter how I treat my children, they should respect me like we had respected our father.”
  • “We all respected our beloved father because he treated us all the same. You haven’t given Reyna the same respect and love you’ve given Luma.” Nile said seriously
  • “Reyna is a useless brat since she has the toxic blood of an angel inside of her, she doesn’t deserve to have the same respect as my full blooded daughter does. She means nothing more to me than the commoners in the street.” Zavier said waving off his brothers words
  • Reyna teared up as she heard the words coming from her father. “H-He hasn’t learnt a thing.”
  • “Of course he hasn’t, do you really think he would? Just because the demonic goddess came down to prove a point doesn’t mean that he’ll change his tune that easily.”
  • Reyna placed down the crystal and covered her face with her hands. “I…I hate my father so much.” She said between sobs
  • “I can only imagine the strife you’re going through. Tell me Reyna, have you ever completely transformed into your demon form?”
  • “I…I don’t know, I barely know anything about my demonic bloodline.” Reyna said through her sniffles
  • The elder male pulled her up with him before he wiped the tears from her eyes. “Then I will teach you what I can. Let’s go outside.”
  • She nodded her head as she followed the male outside, when they did the male gave her a small smile. “Your demonic form should change all of you, not just small parts. Show me what you can do, child.”
  • She took a deep breath and she changed into her demonic form that she knew how to do. Her skin changed color completely to a dark red color with her dark black wings behind her, her hands turned to claws but she still had her human feet and her tail was too small. Her grandfather shook his head. “This is no good. You are almost there, just not quiet.”
  • She quickly turned back and she frowned. “I knew that my demonic blood was weaker than my angelic blood but I didn’t think that what I knew wasn’t right.”
  • “It is not your fault, had your father done what he’s supposed to you would have known the proper way of being able to do so. Because of who your father is-your feet should be that of a calf or cow.”
  • She nodded her head as she heard her grandfather speak. “O…okay. So how do I get my feet to transform?”
  • “That’s the tough part, it’s usually rather easy for female demons to transform. But because you are half demon, half angelic-it might not be possible for you to do so. But I’m not losing hope on helping you, being that I’ve helped your father, uncles and aunt-I will help you as well. Family helps family.” The male said with a smile
  • She nodded her head with a smile. “O-Okay.”
  • “Let’s start with your magic control.” The male said before he gave her the crystal “Place all of your magic that you can into that crystal. The color it turns will determine how much magic control you have. The color’s it may turn are Red, Blue, Purple, Green and Orange. Red means little to no control, blue is some control but not a lot. Purple is a lot of control, Green is great control and Orange is perfect control.”
  • Reyna nodded her head firmly and she concentrated herself and her magic. She shut her eyes and allowed her magic to go into the crystal within her hands. As she did, Nala and the two males had found Ella and Hyun. But none of them moved seeing that Reyna wasn’t in any harm and she didn’t seem like she was distressed at all. When Reyna opened her eyes she saw that the crystal was glowing orange. Her eyes widened stunned, she didn’t think that she was as powerful as she was. But she was proven wrong with the color that showed in the crystal.
  • The elder male smiled a bit. “Well that’s new. I’ve never known anyone who has ever gotten orange before. Then again, I’ve never known anyone who has ever had mixed blood as you do granddaughter. You have a lot of power within you and you seem to have a lot of control over it too. Which is more than I could ever say about your father when he was your age.”
  • Reyna giggled a bit and smiled. “Was he really that bad Grandfather?”
  • He nodded his head. “Mhm, he was the weakest of his siblings and him, he was the cockiest of them all too.”
  • “And you left Militia to him…why grandfather?” Reyna asked confused
  • The male sighed out. “Well…I thought because of his hardships that he’d be more apathetic towards the next generation of demons. Sadly I was proven very wrong, he shouldn’t have treated you so poorly. If his mother was around she wouldn’t have dealt with his bull *.”
  • “What will you do now that you know that your son is doing what he has?”
  • “I’m going to make his daughter be so much stronger than him before teaching him the worst lesson I have yet to teach him.” The male stated
  • Reyna nodded her head before she heard another male voice from inside the house. “Oi Onyx-the hell is going on here? Why is there a sword just lying on the damn couch?!”
  • The male laughed a bit. “Looks like your other grandfather has returned.” The male stated before he took the crystal. “We’ll continue on later dearie.”
  • She nodded her head and the two of them went inside only for the male to not say a word when he saw Reyna. The male was a rather tall built male with silver hair and green eyes, he rubbed between his eyes and sighed out. “Oh for the love! Please tell me you aren’t Emilia’s child.” He said sadly looking at Reyna
  • “Sadly yes.” Reyna stated
  • “*! That child…My name is Gillen. I’m her father.”
  • “I’m well aware. I’m also aware that you are the brother of the pompous * Richard who is about to get a mouth full of chili peppers for the nonsense he’s been talking.” Reyna said with her arms crossed
  • Gillen laughed and smiled at Reyna. “Oh I like you! Tell me how did my daughter treat you?”
  • Reyna sighed out and shook her head. “Are you asking before or after I got my wings?”
  • Gillen frowned. “Oh no…that doesn’t sound good. What happened after you got your wings?”
  • Reyna took a deep breath and she explained what had happened after she showed her wings only for Gillen to seem very irate.
  • “I’m not going to apologize for my daughter, she should be able to place her pride aside and congratulate her own daughter for getting wings that the only other person that has ever gotten them is me.”
  • Reyna’s eyes widen. “R-Really?”
  • “Yes really. Do what thy will but harm none. It has been my motto for a very long time to this day I stand by it. But…I’m starting to think that my daughter cannot handle such a role that I’ve given her.”
  • “Seems like both of our eldest don’t know how to treat our granddaughter.” Onyx said seriously
  • “Wait a tick…Emilia ended up being around Zavier?” Gillen asked
  • Onyx nodded his head. “This here is Reyna, she’s our granddaughter. It seems like my eldest son and your eldest daughter made her in the heat of battle…literally. My guess it’s something your daughter started.”
  • “No doubt, I know how confrontational she is.” Gillen said with a sigh before he looked at Reyna. “I will personally talk with that woman, now I’d like to hear how you came to be here in first place. What made you want to come here?”
  • Reyna went to grab Ryse from the couch before she placed her back against her waist, she then looked at the elder male. “ A lot…where to even start?”
  • “Come sit granddaughter, no need for you to stand.” Gillen said as he sat down and patted beside him
  • She nodded her head and she sat in the middle of the couch and Onyx sat on the other side of her. Reyna then explained her entire life to them and how she ended up meeting up with Richard in his bakery. Gillen and Onyx both knew that their granddaughter had a lot more ahead of her. They both took the hand that was close to them before they held it close to their hearts.
  • “I will return to Militia and take care of my son. When I do I will take ahold of the throne once more. When I do I will help you in any way shape or form that you need.”
  • “And I will return to Mirfield where I will take care of my daughter and take the throne once more, I will uphold my views and take care of those who don’t. I will make sure you have as many people as possible to help you out.”
  • She teared up as she heard that she had the respect and trust of the two elder males. “T-Thank you, you have no idea how much that helps me out.”
  • “Before I go though…I’m going to give my brother a piece of my damn mind. How he treated you wasn’t right and he should have known better.” Gillen said seriously
  • Reyna nodded her head. “O-Okay.”
  • “This place may be yours to use as you wish now. It is a safe haven away from all of the world’s troubles so you’ll be able to do as you wish here without having to deal with the chaos outside of it.” Onyx said with a smile
  • “T-thank you Grandfather.”
  • “No, thank you for opening up to us. Do you as you need-let us deal with our children.”Onyx stated with a smile before he patted the top of her head. “When we meet again I will teach you what you need for your demonic blood okay?”
  • Her eyes lit up. “Yes grandfather!” She said happily
  • Onyx then left out without another word, Gillen stayed with her and the two of them ate together before Gillen shook his head. “I hate that my brother raised his voice at you and said what he had to you. He had no right to do so, he is no lord of anything if he can’t see the rights and wrongs of his people and himself.”
  • Reyna nodded her head in agreement. “I know that.”
  • “Come now child…we’re going back. I will personally deal with him.”
  • “Yes grandfather.” Reyna said with a smile
  • Holding onto the elder males hand they left out and they placed their wings out before they left the hideout. Hyun and Nala followed behind them with Ella, Zeph and Avery on their backs. When they saw that they were going to the bakery they landed not far from the bakery before the two dragons turned to their human forms. All of them shouted Reyna’s name making her look at them with a smile.
  • “Oh…hey guys. Sorry for rushing off…I needed to cool my head off. I ended up finding my grandfather's though!” She said happily
  • Hyun’s eyes widened before he bowed his head towards Gillen. “It’s a pleasure to meet you highness.”
  • Gillen chuckled a bit. “You’re an alright guy, treat my granddaughter well Hyun.”
  • “Y-You know who I am?”
  • “Of course I do, Reyna described all of you fairly well. I'm pleased to see that it is a water elemental that is by my granddaughter instead of one of the others. Zeph, I look forward to seeing what you can do around her. Your clan is the strongest of all the elementals and I must say to be paired with her-you yourself must be strong as well. So protect her well.” Gillen said with a smile
  • Zeph looked stunned but smiled and bowed his head. “Yes of course.”
  • Gillen then looked at Ella. “And princess Ella, is your clan still hyped up about a sword that will never be theirs?”
  • Ella sighed. “Unfortunately.”
  • “I see, well I guess some things will never change. I’m happy to see someone of your kind near my granddaughter, I know your clan is strong as well. You will protect her well.” Gillen said with a smile
  • Ella nodded her head firmly. “Yes sir, I will do what I can to protect her.”
  • "That’s all I will ask of you.” Gillen said before he looked at Avery and Nala “I cannot say much about the two of you-but I am well aware that you two are the closest to my granddaughter. So for that much, I will say thank you for being you.”
  • Avery and Nala nodded their heads, Reyna then looked up at Gillen. “Shall we Grandfather?”
  • “Of course, I can’t wait to see the look on my elder brother’s face.” Gillen said with a chuckle
  • The lot of them went inside only for Kayla to greet them. “Welcome back…wait who is this with you?”
  • “He is your uncle Kayla, go get your father.” Reyna said with a smile
  • Kayla nodded her head before Avery pulled Reyna to the table.”Eat woman.”
  • “I ate with my grandfather.”
  • “Fine…but next time…tell us when you leave. I was so worried about you.” Avery said sadly
  • Reyna looked at him sadly and placed a hand against the side of his face. “I apologize babe, I didn’t mean to make any of you worry about me.”
  • “I know you didn’t.” Avery said with a sigh
  • At that time Richard came into the dining area where he stopped walking seeing his younger brother. “G-Gillen?!”
  • Gillen went up to Richard and punched him hard in the gut before doing the same to his face. “How dare you say what you had to a child! You have no room to *ing talk about anything! You pushed lily and I away from you for what?! The three of us used to be thick as thieves before you chose to be Mr. Big-*-Energy! Let me tell you, the place you called home that was once in rubble-isn’t! Ryse wasn’t talking * about that!”
  • “H-How..what do you mean? And she isn’t a child. She’s sixteen close enough to being an adult Gillen.”
  • “Do you remember when we were first treated like adults?! What age were we?!”
  • Richard sighed out. “Twenty one. But to me, adulthood is Sixteen. Once they get to that age they can do what they please.”
  • “Well not everyone is a sicko like you! To the rest of the world the ‘adult’ age is twenty one! So open your *ing eyes and stop being a * to a damn child! Reyna has enough bull * to go through being the woman of prophet! She doesn’t need your * too!”
  • Richard shook his head. “I doubt that she is.”
  • Gillen rubbed between his eyes. “Okay you dumb ass mother *er. Let’s bring back memories of our lessons from when we were her age. Do you remember what our teacher used to teach us about the woman of prophet?”
  • Richard sighed out with his arms crossed. “She’ll be of mixed blood, be able to have the highest of the righteous blood and the highest magic over all. She will be able to be marked by both east and west accompany kingdoms. She will be a pacifist.”
  • “What is Reyna?”
  • “A snobby brat who doesn’t know how to take her life into her own hands.”
  • Gillen face palmed himself. “Brother…you are a dumb mother *er. I swear.”
  • “Tell me I’m wrong.”
  • “You are wrong! Reyna is the daughter of mixed blood. She has the blood of the eldest angelic born and the blood of the eldest demon born. She has the same wings I do and was tested by Onyx. Her aura is Orange. She has the mark of the elementals and wraiths. Which is no easy feat to do. From her adventure so far she has not once killed anyone. Doesn’t that ring a bell to you *?!”
  • Richard looked at his brother unamused. “I am not believing a damn word you say brother. She cannot and will not be the one who will save all of us. I already plan to make Kayla be the one who does that.”
  • “Your work will be for not Richard. You are wasting your time, you will see in time that Reyna is who I say she is.”
  • A male wearing all black in a cloak went up to the two males. “Where is Reyna?”
