A Nightmare Unleashed / Chapter Two
A Nightmare Unleashed
  • "You belong to me now," he said, his voice firm and unwavering.
  • Ajax growled again, clearly not happy with the situation. He stood his ground, his eyes fixed on Theron. "You can't just take Lyra," he said firmly. "She's a valued member of our pack, and we won't just hand her over."
  • Theron turns towards Ajax. "I am the alpha of my pack," he growled. "And I have the right to claim any werewolf who catches my eye."
  • Lyra couldn't believe what was happening, she felt *ed off at the situation "I don't want to be claimed by anyone," she said, her voice shaking with emotion. "I want to make my own choices, to live my own life."
  • The two alphas turned to look at her, their expressions unreadable.
  • "You can't just ignore the laws of our kind," Theron said "You have been claimed, and you must accept it."
  • Ajax stepped forward, his eyes fixed on Theron. "If you want Lyra, you'll have to fight me for her," he said, his voice low and menacing.
  • Theron hesitated for a moment, seeming to consider the offer. But then he shook his head, his expression hardening once again.
  • "I will not fight you," he said. "But mark my words - I will have Lyra, one way or another."
  • With that, the faraway alpha turned and disappeared back into the forest, leaving Lyra and Ajax alone.
  • Lyra's heart was pounding as she looked up at her pack alpha. She knew that he had risked everything to stand up for her, and she couldn't help but feel a deep sense of gratitude and respect for him.
  • But even as she felt safe in the presence of her pack alpha, Lyra knew that Theron was still out there and she couldn't shake the feeling that her troubles were far from over.
  • Lyra let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding and turned to Ajax. "Thank you," she said. "I don't know what I would've done without you."
  • Ajax's expression softened, and he reached out to touch her arm. "You don't have to thank me," he said. "Protecting our pack members is what we do. And you are one of us."
  • Lyra felt a rush of warmth at his words. She had always felt like an outsider among her own packmates, but now she knew that she had a true home with her pack.
  • But even as she felt a sense of belonging, Lyra couldn't help but think about Theron. She had heard stories of his pack before, and they were known for their ruthlessness and power.
  • "What do we do now?" she asked Ajax, her voice shaking slightly.
  • He paused for a moment, seeming to consider his words carefully. "We will keep watch," he said finally. "We'll make sure that Theron doesn't come back for you."
  • Lyra nodded, feeling a sense of relief at his words. But even as she tried to relax, she couldn't shake the feeling of unease that was growing inside her.
  • The thought of being claimed by an alpha, of being forced to submit to their will, was a terrifying prospect. And even though her pack alpha had promised to protect her, Lyra couldn't help but feel like her fate was still out of her control.
  • As she lay in her bed that night, surrounded by the familiar smells and sounds of her pack, Lyra couldn't help but wonder what the future would hold. She thought "Would Theron keep true to his words and come back for me, and if he did, would I be able to resist his claim? Why did he choose me in the first place?"
  • The uncertainty was overwhelming, and as Lyra drifted off to sleep, she knew that her troubles were far from over.
